I bought the 44 special used and it has never given me trouble.

I bought the 32 H&R used and it has never given me trouble.

I bought the 45acp used, it didn't function correctly, and they fixed it for free.

I bought the 22lr new. It didn't work correctly and had to go back to the factory. They fixed it for free.

The 32 H&R is particularly good for my wife and daughter.

The 44 special is a great carry piece for cold weather, in coat pockets and such.

Im planning on doing a comparison of the Boomer and a S&W 642 weight and pics ... hopefully in the next few days
I will post here on this thread...

Looking forward to it!
My 2021 buying list is short. Hell, the only thing I bought in 2020 was a 686+ back in January. I'm planning on a boomer or .45 colt Bulldog as my cornerstone purchase for the coming year. The Boomer because I think the quintessential Charter is a .44 Special. The .45 colt because it is just a.tad easier to find ammo.

Either way, I am a sucker for Charter.

The "long ranger" rides again. Six inch barrel 357. Made in Stratford CT. I'd definately buy another CA but I'd be mindful. The quality can waver a bit depending on year, location of factory, and corporate ownership. I really enjoy shooting this one. It had a minor problem with an inconsistent cylinder release mechanism. I loc-tighted a tiny screw and it 20201209_225034.jpg never happened again.

I wish Charter Arms would make an "Undercover Classic" along the lines of the Bulldog Classic. Unshrouded ejector rod, tapered barrel w/ hook front sight, wood panel grips; blued steel frame/grip.

I have a 2016 build Bulldog and love the little guy, it's our house gun for whatever may need to be done. I popped some Altamont grips on it and they're far better than the stockers:

The other gun in the pic? That's one that I'm not-so in love with. I loved the Bulldog so much that I though "Hey! Might as well get a Pitbull in n9mm!"...yeah, I hate that thing. The trigger is horrid, it smacks the snot out of your trigger finger...it even gets the occasional light hammer strike. To make things worse, after some testing, 9mm bullet pull, depending on the maker, is extreme. I noted it when I'd run a cylinder and the recoil and POA would change drastically by the 5th round.

Unfortunately, one of my .38's has to make another trip back to the mothership. Packed it up today. Timing issues again.

I want the blued boomer but with a front sight

I asked Charter it they could install a front sight .. they said , nope ... But a fellow could as local gunsmiths...
But honestly for its intended purpose.. its more than capable... Its a BUG ...or a jacket pocket piece... which its perfect the way it is ... absolutely no snag

I always viewed that one as a belly gun, for up close business only.
