I had this wretched thing out this morning:
Its a Springfield 840, in .222 Rem. It don't shoot too bad, though:

Shoot that is beautiful compared the stock versions. When all this junk calms down ill be buying one in 9mm. Just because.

Okay, to my eye, "Pinky" and the "compliant" ARs are ugly. The rest look pretty good to me ...

ALL my rifles are BEAUTIFUL!! -- to me -- (in the eye of the beholder). That being said I think the pinky above takes the prize in this thread. Fun topic, though!!

What BB94 said. I’ve never seen an ugly wood’n’blue rifle. The function demands a certain form and that form is generally graceful, even when it’s beat to hell. Kind of like a longbow..

I picked on up about 20 years ago in unfired condition. The barrel is interesting in that it has groves milled around the entire length. Romanian .22 vs. Norway

This is the equivalent of a girl spending 2 hours in front of the make up mirror and taking filtered pictures in her pajamas and saying "oh I'm having such a frumpy day and my hair is such a mess".....lol

I didn't want to have to do this, and it is not strictly a rifle but a 410 slug gun. The without a doubt, ugliest gun in my collections.Lots of not ugly guns in here.
A Steven 410 Bolt action shotgun that someone made a wood burning project out of the stock. I bought it for $85 from the local Gander Mountains used gun rack.
I did not help its beauty any when I cut the barrel down from 24-inches to ~22.5-inches to remove the full choke. I then CNC machined the custom sight bases from aluminum that are epoxied to the barrel. This allow the mounting of some TruGlo Tru-Bead Universal Shotgun Sights onto the barrel. This made it a dedicated 410 slug gun, and definitely an ugly gun.

It's a thing of beauty.... no I know whatcha mean. By most peoples standards, dirt and chipping paint is a deal breaker. For me I like a nicely worn AR....Upper, lower and stock all different colors, dirt all over the front rail, tape on the stock, scratches all over... indeed an ugly one
