Let's See Your Ugly Rifles

I didn't want to have to do this, and it is not strictly a rifle but a 410 slug gun. The without a doubt, ugliest gun in my collections.

A Steven 410 Bolt action shotgun that someone made a wood burning project out of the stock. I bought it for $85 from the local Gander Mountains used gun rack.

I did not help its beauty any when I cut the barrel down from 24-inches to ~22.5-inches to remove the full choke. I then CNC machined the custom sight bases from aluminum that are epoxied to the barrel. This allow the mounting of some TruGlo Tru-Bead Universal Shotgun Sights onto the barrel. This made it a dedicated 410 slug gun, and definitely an ugly gun. :D

11 degree recess target crown.
Whooooo, at first glance not my taste but not so bad either. Then I scrolled back out of curiosity and saw that it’s a bolt 410 with all that done to it. Now I’m trying to decide if the forend has images of partly peeled bananas or partly shucked ears of corn. I didn’t know anybody took the time and effort to ruin a piece of wood by stippling it, but you sir own proof that it did in fact happen. The target crown and sights got the best of me. I would have to turn that thing into an ultralight by slabbing the sides of the stock where all the “woodworking” was done, especially on the butt stock. Cut out a pound or more of wood back there and you have accomplished something. Not sure what but it would be rid of that awful elk.

JJFitch---any recipes for cooking that critter ?

I'll have to ask the Coyotes!

That guy was feeding off "Mom's" bird feeder! Bad idea. The first round just missed but caught some fur. 10 minutes he was back for the last time. 40 grains of soft lead went in his hip and exited just above hi right eye! DRT!

We live in a forest and lots of opportunities for "target practice"! I also have a 50 yard range! :)

There are lots of guns that are pretty and there are lots of guns that just work. I like pretty guns but if push came to shove give me a gun that just works and I don't give a rip if it's ugly. :D

Don't have a PIC but mine would be a keltek sub 2000. it has a piece of pipe insulation for a cheek rest, red and blue magazines, a e lcheapo red dot. It is ugly cheap and rattles. but it always goes bang and will eat anything you want to feed it.

The finish is a little fade-away
Not ugly at all...that's a rifle that's earned its wings.

Are they swans flying maybe? Corn? Bananas? lol!!! That's funny :D

This is my Franken-One. It’s a No. 1V in 25-06 and it’s the ugliest Ruger No. 1 I own, but it shoots pretty well. The wood is beat all to hell and back and the stainless scope rings don’t match. It’s even got some light rust along the barrel and the receiver has started to “plum” as Ruger finishes are prone to do, but it’s a shooter and I love it 6006F4D0-06C3-4543-AB3D-88E001F2CCEA.jpeg .

Don't ask how it shoots because it hasn't been shot as far as I can tell and I have had it twenty years..
