I'm surprised this thread is still getting views and the occasional pic posted since I started it back in April.

Brother, I'm surprised that you are surprised.
There are a lot of us here that love our SAs.
It wouldn't shock me to still be seeing this thread popping up for years to come.
Thanks for starting it. Like I said before, it makes me happy.:D

Now those are some serious Stag grips on one of your Colts! And I really like the Ivory on the gun due in shortly!

Custom Ruger NM BH in 45Colt. Polished stainless, tuned and smoothed action and a feather-light trigger. Only thing it needs is some more distinctive grips. Something exotic... Maybe mammoth tusk ivory?! The faux ivory will do for now lol

Yep, with all the gun lovers out there this thread could go on forever.

Since my post last April one 38-40 (38 WCF) appeared in August and another is due next week..

Due Dec 15th ... an early Christmas :)

38-40 is such a joy to shoot in a full size frame. Both of those are beauties. Mine is a New Service model.

Now that's serious polishing that's been done to your stainless Ruger Blackhawk! I thought my Vaquero was pretty shiny but yours takes it to the next level!

Ah yes I remember our 'twins'! And yes, it has a really really high polish. It is under a blue sky in that pic too, so it's looking its brightest. I have some of my grandpas notes on it, I should investigate it farther. There are a couple spots that should have been finished better before polishing, namely the flat tops below and behind the blast shield. But overall its a dang fine job.

This was the first time ive put more than 6 rounds through it. It might be my favorite gun to shoot! The 40 rounds I put though it were more enjoyable and more accurate than the 20 out of the python.

Here's a wrangler im converting to a birds head. No grips yet, and ill be re-duracoating the ruger silver to a brown or FDE. But the grip, hammer sides, trigger, and new stainless loading gate are polished. Sandpaper down to 3000 then Tripoli and fine green on soft buffing wheels at 1750 rpm. It will also get stainless pins all around. Cylinder will stay black.

That remodeled Wrangler is going to look real sharp with high polished stainless pieces matched up with a brown or FDE finish on the rest of the gun!
Thanks! I sure hope so. Ive got over 20 hours fitting and polishing in it already. Im pretty darn particular so it has to be perfect lol. Theres a couple spots that need a bit of additional sanding and repolished. Some imperfections only rear their ugly teeth once polished!

Just picked up this new Uberti "Bonney" in .45 Colt. I really like the feel of the birds head. It's my first single action, and I just swooned over the bluing and the case hardened steel.
Can't wait to take it to the range.

On a related note-- and this may be a question for a separate thread-- do any of you have recommendations for a multiple hand gun safe that could fit four revolvers? Most of whatI see online could maybe fit two, and the few "four gun" safes do not appear to be able to accommodate the length of my Model 17. At least from the interior dimensions cited. Just curious.

My latest entry!
Christmas/ birthday/anniversary gift from my wonderful wife of 29 years.
Well actually the gift cards were the gift but she did go with me to pick it out.
45 Colt and amazing case hardened colors.

Congrats on having such an awesome wife and for having equally good taste in single action revolvers! And you're right; those color case hardened hues are stunning!

Looking forward to your first range report!

I will probably shoot it this afternoon.
That's a very pretty cattleman, and as you might suspect, I dig those grips. Congrats! Is it Uberti/Cimarron/Taylor?
And... amazing you found some .45 colt cartridges anywhere. I had to order online and am still waiting.

She is a Uberti.
As for the ammo, that is some Armscor 255 grain that I stumbled on at Dunhams Sports midway through the panic.
Bought 2 boxes and still have 1 of them left.
I only buy factory ammo for any of my revolvers if I need brass. May not be cheaper than just buying brass but it's more fun.;)

Thank you sir. She was my high school sweetheart and still is.
I didn't get to shoot the gun today but will post a report as soon as I can.
