So I sold a few rifles I wasn't using and decided to get another CZ 527. I have been wanting a varmint rifle for a while now, and since I couldn't find a 221 fireball anywhere, I ordered a 223. The one I have coming is the 223 euro varmint, a heavier barreled 25.6" barrel. No sights, but this one will wear a scope all the time so sight are not necessary. It was one of two 527 rifles my local store could get through the supplier they use, so I pulled the trigger so to speak. Hope it comes with the rings for the scope!

I've been eyeing the euro, probably just get the normal varmint tho I can't decide between the 223 or 6.5grendel one in 6arc would be great.
6 arc would be perfect in one of these rifles. I wanted a 221 fireball, but the last two I chased on gunbroker both went for over $1250, so I went 223. I may rebarrel down the road, but for now I will play with 223. I can't wait to get it in my hands and get a scope on it...

I would be prepared for it not to. CZ told me they arnt shipping scope rings anymore.

I hadn't heard about this change, and confirmed it at the CZ USA website. Pity -- factory CZ rings are pretty good quality, and used to be included with rifles lacking iron sights.

I use and like Warne QDs on my 7.62x39, but the rings that came in the box with my .300 Blackout 527 proved just right for my purposes.

When you get it pictures would be much appreciated!!!
What scope you thinking of using.
I was pretty sure they didn't ship with rings any more. Too bad cause the rings I was looking at are about 100 bucks. Oh well.

Not sure on the scope yet. Probably something with a low power bottom end. Might even go fixed 4x. Probably a 3.5 to 10x40 or so though. Gotta see what looks good on it, it may just get a 2-7x of some sort. I am thinking some decent glass though. If you have Ideas I am all ears...

yeah the lack of rings is a bummer....I think I paid something like 800-850ish for my 6.5Grendel, and it kinda miffed me to have to drop another 50-100 bucks on rings for the thing. I guess I shouldn't really complain since I've bought far more expensive guns that didn't come with bases much less rings. Still tho, I wasn't expecting to have to go out and immediately find rings before shooting my gun, so valid or not, it bugged me.

I dont really have much of a suggestion scope wise, as most of my stuff tends to run on the highside of that magnification range. I have a GPO Passion 3-9x42 on my American and I've found it to be a really nice combo.
I had a 4.5-14x32 Burris Timberline on it before, but the stupid little thing has such a long eye relief that i couldn't get it far enough forward. Otherwise, that would probably be an ideal optic for the guns.

I don't mind them not coming with rings, I was just surprised they didn't my last gun. I figured I save some not buying bases anyway.

Your Euro is a few year old model so there's still a chance. Apart from the twist it's the same as the varmint. Tho I've seen some threaded to which would be nice to mess with a barrel tuner.

That timberline seemed like the perfect scope for them, funny normally we fight the eye relief the other way.
I would like to see if there still available.

Oh, for heaven's sake, why are you keeping it a big secret where you bought it? I've been keeping my eye open for one of those. I remember seeing a used one in a gun shop one town away a year or so ago and putting it on my mental "wanna-get" list and I haven't seen another, new or used, since. There must not be too many coming into the country.

The wood is great! A few pics here to try and show it off. Not exhibition grade but plenty nice for a woods walking rifle. Action is slick, and the barrel is nicely free floated. And it has the new bottom metal for the shorter mags! This is a very nice, well balanced rifle. I am so excited, can't wait to shoot it!

I've been told by more than one tradesman that the apprentice system in Europe is producing craftsmen in every field just as it always has from cabinet makers to tile setters and every other hand crafting skill imaginable. Something our country should really consider.....
A good friend of mine was a high school shop teacher and just recently retired (and may have been one of the only ones in all of south Florida..). He's mentioned more than once how high school students come into his classes not knowing how to use even a screwdriver these days... We could produce the same level of craftmanship over here that CZ does - if we re-considered our education system...
