Ty for that info.. I guess since Winchester been sold 2-3 times since the rifle was made, I guess the info was trashed or forgotten somewhere within the abyss of
paperwork. Also u said in 1964 receivers and bolt handles were parkerized and Widefields started around that time too, I can safely say this is not a pre 64 but just after but not that much, will give Winchester a call tomorrow and see what then can do.

It's possible the scope was added later, a good picture of the side of the bolt will tell us if it's pre-64 with a large external claw extractor like a Mauser, or post-64 with a push-feed system like a Rem 700.

will give CDC and cody firearms a try b4 I try Winchester

I can also take different angles of the bolt... will post it so you guys can tell me it this is a pre 64...

Ok.. I went and called Winchester and they looked my ser# up and it was made in 1972 cause I have a ( G ) in front of the ser#. The Winchester person told me they started the G in front of the ser# around 1970, the parkerized bolt and rec. is one thing but the parkerized barrel is special he said.

I originally bought this as a conversation piece... something different... only shot it 2x as u see my avitar that's my baby... more fun than a bold action.
