What Are Your Gun/Shooting Related Goals for 2021?

Go shoot with my sons, have fun.....be careful, stay healthy.....

I am five days post op on shoulder surgery. My goal is to run a ramrod in my bp rifles without pain.
I would also like to shoot something bigger than .22lr without pain.
Physical therapy begins today, so I'm headed towards the goals.

My thoughts are for the time being I'm not going to buy any more firearms , rather I will spend my $$$ on any ammo and reloading supplies that I can get my hands on. I realize prices are drastically inflated on both , but if I want to continue to shoot and reload , I will need to keep buying whatever I can get. I'm down to having 4200 spp left , so unfortunately I'll have to pay up for more.

I’m slowly getting into reloading. I’ve got a wife who’s supported all my shooting requirements but has always been afraid of me loading my own ammo because she used to work with a guy who was a “big shooter” but bought reloads from a gun show (yes...stupid!!!) and blew a gun apart and gut hurt. So I’ve been slowly pushing her over because one of our friends (my main shooting brother) is a big reloader and she’s coming around to the idea that if I’m reloading with him, she’s okay with that.

So I’ve bought a few thousand 9MM bullets and couple cans of W231 and when I can locate primers, I’ll try and work up a simple range load to start. I’ve also borrowed his Lee press and have been depriming and wet tumbling brass. I have about 10K 9MM brass and a few thousand .45 brass cleaned and sized.

I’m also looking to add at least a pair of rifles to the safe this year. Both will be bolt action guns, one in .223 and the other in 7.62*39. Still contemplating between CZ and Ruger. By my research, Ruger best fills the mag requirement (I’d like to be able to use AR magazines) and CZ the accuracy requirement. These will primarily be plinking guns.

I’m also looking to add another lever gun to the safe. Still contemplating caliber. I really want a .44 and the new Henry is what I’ve been eyeing. But kinda curious what Ruger comes out with...

And I want to buy a metric crap ton of .22. Thought I had it covered but the reality is my storage numbers were probably low. I’ve still got plenty, but I’m being more careful using it than I would like. And the Glock 44 is such a great training gun I’m going through it faster than I used to with my other .22’s

Guess I’ll see where I end up in a year.

I agree with grammontS, in that I won't be buying anymore guns this year as I feel my money will be better spent on reloading components. The guns I already have are useless without ammo. I've already bought some primers at $150/1000, a price I'd have never dreamed I'd pay 6 months ago.

I want to continue shooting once a week, I'll just be cutting back on rounds per trip.

#1 - Find the time to actually shoot and reload ammo. This has been my most devilish problem all along. Always, but always competing priorities demanding my time and efforts. If I can come up with the free time the weather is sure to crap out!

#2 - Persuade my daughters to shoot with me. They're both in school and have friends they want to spend time with so this is problem #1 above squared.

#3 - Finish organizing all firearms related materials - reloading, magazines, holsters, everything. I've got a good start on it, but I'm not there yet.

#4 - Inventory what I've already got (see #3 above) so that I can figure out what I need to still acquire. Who knows if and when we'll ever get back to "normal" for reloading supplies, ammunition, etc.

#5 - Loop back up to #1.

My #1 goal this year is to get my kids and wife comfortable around firearms and have them learn to shoot safely. My personal goal, secondarily, is to become much more proficient at shooting pistols and begin the process of becoming an NRA Pistol Instructor.

Shoot more, reload more, keep looking for reloading supplies and keep refilling the ammo cans.

Basically no change but I should try to have more fun. After 2020 , we'll see. I'm trying to stay positive.

My goal is to hunt with family in Wisconsin this fall. Cancelled those plans do to COVID this past year.

I would also like to add a new rifle and handgun to the toolbox.
A 44 mag for hiking out west and a Ruger American LH.

Increase my ammo stock. Upgrade my safe. Fine-tune some loads. And take my new 44 on a hundred miles or so of mountain trails.

I want to get back into shooting clays again this year. I went twice in 2020, which is 2 more times than I'd gone the previous 5 years. When I was in college I probably went once or twice a month, year-round.

Airguns

Shoot up my .38 Special reload supply then go to "just in time" reloading. Reload enough each month for that month's shooting.

If things return to some kind of normal, maybe pick up a 9mm 1911.

Finding and buying as much reloading material as I can for the 16 calibers that I reload for. Luckily I am set on Primers so I don't have to jump in that pond. Everything else is still reasonably priced, just harder to find.

Well, my state Coservation Department closed the place that I shoot indefinitely because of all of this 'rona nonsense, so, my goal has switched to now selling most of the guns I have. No ammo, no place to shoot, so, what's the point.

I'm in cardiac rehab for my many recent procedures and can sympathize with the pain and discomfort. I am not allowed to use my left arm higher than my shoulder so bp is out for now. Looking to get back on the trap field (doc says o,k. after 4/1) and in the deer blind next fall. Got my spring turkey tag Sat so hope that goes well.

Get rehabbed from Cardiac work, get back on the trap field, in the turkey woods, deer blind and get rid of about (insert number here) guns I bought that "would be nice to have" but have not used.
And get my granddaughters back on the youth program that got cancelled last year.

1. Not get them taken away.
2. Not to have to use them for anything beside good clean fun.

Find about 10k+ primers and projectiles in my favorite calibers, to replenish from this year.

Tailor a load for my 6.5 Grendel, meaning access to powders, primers and projectiles aplenty.

Doubt I'll get either.

Get vaccinated so I can get back to work at the gun shop and be able to use a shooting range to finally shoot my new SP5. I haven't been shooting since March.

I want to set up a organized work bench and ammo storage space that makes sense.
I'd like to display my guns (privately in my home) so that at least I can see them daily. But a safe is not out of the question.
I want to actually shoot some of my ammo instead of collecting it.
I'll need to join a new gun club/range in the Hanover, PA area.
I need to decide whether to commit to SASS shooting or not.
Can't let politics unnerve me but I can't stick my head in the sand either.

Ditto. I have one on order. Going to jump into this pool to conserve ammo and money.

Buy a mid range scope $700, reload more, tie more fly's. Shoot as often as ammo supply allows. Fish and boat more. Don't let political BS get me down. No TV news or vapid modern television.

How so? Training? Hunting? Teaching new shooters? Pest control? Inexpensive range time? Convenience?

I am currently using air guns for all of the above but hunting.
