I won a collection of Redfield scopes over the weekend at an auction. One of the scopes that I won is a NIB 8-32 x 40 . I can't find much about this scope online. Anyone familiar with it?

Leupold owned them for a while. Out of business now. There is probably a similar Leupold version out htre. Consider it it a budget model target scope. Some of their stuff was a good value. You might find a pdf of the manual somewhere.

Thanks, DB.

I think this one may have pre-dated their ownership by Leupold. Down in the left corner of the pic, looks like it says "...made in Denver Colorado"

I see that. (Now that you point it out.) If so, it may be a better specimen that I originally surmised. (Not to say the last runs of Redfield were bad.) I feel like the logo on the box matches their last run with Leupold.

Were older Redfields made in Denver?

I believe all Redfields were made in Denver until 1998

Do you see the REDFIELD trademark anywhere on this scope?? I don't see evidence of such in your pics. Every Redfield scope I have ever seen including in my scope identification book has the trademark loud and proud on the scope and usually in two or three different places. Yes, until 1998, Redfield was in Denver.

I am sure if the OP rolls the scope over, you could see the Redfield logo. I would guess it's a "R" with a crosshair on it like is on the box.

The pictures weren't very good, but I've dealt with this auction house in the past and trust them. In addition to the 8-32x40 Redfield, I got three other Redfield 6400 target scopes...2 24X's and a 16X

Two were in Redfield red cases and the other was in a styrofoam box.

I also got a NIB Weaver CT-10X

I own a few redfields. Mainly newer ones. Not bad scopes for the price. I almost always buy leupold when I can because they are the best for your money and you cannot beat their guarantee. Lifetime warranty and you don't need a reciept

Kinda how I feel, except I'm converting over to Vortex as I go. My Redfield scope will be the last item I replace.

Learn something every day. That is the absolute first time I've seen that one. Usually it's kind of a roll on like is pictured on the right side of the top of the box in first set of pictures. Of course, this is the first target model I have gotten to look at.

Here is a couple of the older trademark styles and the one's on either side of a newer Revolution:

Okay. I found it. Limited run right before they closed the Denver plant. Only made a handful. Seems like this is a rare and valuable target scope.
