First knife? A mighty C. Julius Herbertz Bavarian Hunting Knife with a 2 5/16" blade and stag handle. Procured decades ago, when I wasn't quite 3.5 years old. My parents declined to have the shopkeeper sharpen it, and it remains unsharpened to this day. Most recent knife? Cold Steel Magnum Tanto XII.

First knife is long gone, im sure it was some bud-k special for $2.99. Ironically I just bought another cheapo china knife today, keep dropping em down the ice fishing hole lol,(happened twice this week) so i bought cheap. Mostly wanted to help out the local army surplus store, and its at least an attractive if not crappy blade. I might should buy one of those super magnets to tie on the end of my fishing line for next time.

Great thread!
My first at 7 y/o was a gray Schrade 1095 slip joint, in the Barlow style and marked as such from the local hardware store, where I also bought 22 ammo.
That was 1955!
Stolen in middle school from the gym locker.
The latest were gifts from my fellow mods when I was seriously ill
A Kershaw Al Mar A/O from hso
And a CRKT Batum from John Shirley

Uncle Henry 227UH folding hunter and a Victorinox Tinker were my first.

Not a lot of point in posting "most recent" purchase since that changes with the moon. More realistic would be carried.

That's a vintage Victorinox "Astronaut" most days.

First was Buck 119. Black and stainless with a ~6" blade. I left it with an ex-GF for protection in a rough part of Tulsa.

Most recent is a Fox 513

First knife was a four blade Kamp-King. Got it from the prize catalog for selling magazine subscriptions at school (can you picture that happening nowadays...bet you can't!). Latest knife is actually three that I got for Christmas: an Ontario RAT Model 1 (work/camping/all-purpose knife), a S&W Model SWFR2S (car/truck knife), and a Gerber Pocket Square (discrete shirt pocket carry knife).

I don't buy knives too often, since most of the time my knife work gets done by the knife blade on whatever multi-tool I am carrying. I always carry a multi-tool and occasionally add in a knife of some type too.

Right: My first knife, A Buck 118 Personal, gift from my father when I was pretty young.
Middle: My newest fixed bladed knife I paid for, Kershaw Antelope Hunter II
Left: Honorable mention since the Kershaw is 7 years old. Found this inexpensive Winchester knife this summer on our hunting property. Someone (trespasser) dropped it on one of the four-wheeler trails and I found it while wandering around . I sharpened it up and made the sheath for it. It now rides in the range box for utilitarian purposes.

Top: First pocket knife, my Ulster made Boy Scout knife bought about a year after the Buck above. That knife went on many many campouts over my Scouting years.
Bottom: My newest pocket knife, Kershaw Cryo II Titanium, if I am carrying a pocket knife in addition to my multi-tool it is almost certainly this knife.

Right: My first multi-tool a old original Gerber MP600 (Christmas gift from my brother when I was in grad school, fixed my commuting bike many times with it.)
Left: My newest multi-tool a Leatherman Surge, signed by Mr Leatherman himself at Shot Show 2018, although I had been carrying it about two years before he signed it. This multi-tool is with me anytime I am working or out in the woods.

Or buy one with a handle that floats. :)

My first knife was a Cub Scout knife. No photos available.

My most recent knife (for me) is a Russell Model 7 SS that I've had on order for a good while. Should be shipped any day now, so no photos yet.. Most recent not for me is the Hogue manufactured Doug Ritter folder that is for my grandson's next birthday.

My first knife was a 110 buck knife I bought in 1975 when I joined the army. I than bought a Carl Schleiper cryogenic treated knife, used it throughout my military career and was very useful in the jungles.

My last knife I bought was a custom made buck knife a 110 with buffalo horn handles nickel bolsters , finger grooves, with an upgraded steel blade of SV30.

HA!! Today that would read "Confiscated by gym teacher. Got ten days out of school suspension."

You are right!
Had to teach both granddaughters martial arts dirty fighting cause no weapons.
When some yahoo tried to steal her purse the dude needed EMS. I took the suspension all the way up to the news people. It got taken off the books!

My signature references what is known as "The Curse of Lew Wallace": "All calculations based on our experiences elsewhere fail in New Mexico.''

Ah. Thanks for clarifying. Frankly, I don't quite understand it. Lew wasn't remotely the first governor of the territory, but NM has been messed up basically forever. Anyway, I appreciate the Lew Wallace reference. He is basically unknown in this state. You mention his name and people go, "Who??" You mention Ben Hur and people go "What??"
