What is the most recent knife you bought?

I needed a nice letter opener and cheese slicer for special occasions. I've always liked the 'Shepards Cross' done in brass pins on the side.

I've been very pleased to take mine along on finer dining excursions as a *steak-knife*.

And no, I have not yet forgotten it on a table.

Here, I'm knockin' wood as I type.;)

Cold Steel Spartan. I have been on the hunt for a mega folder with a blade over 4". This fills the bill. Total impulse purchase at the local flea market. I have to loosen up the clip and will carry it when not at work.

Pardon the ninjas, but mine are also useful to harvest christmas tree, gardening, digging out rocks, and general cutting boxes and occasional steak and paninis when camping.

They are Eickhorn-Solingen KM2000 (newer version) and the 'ol Glock knife. Despite the price difference, both hold up and cut things equally well. :)

Modders have been converting Buck 110 and similar knives to auto for at least 10 if not 20 years. They disassemble the knives, install a seer and a kick spring, and a button (to match the bolster material). https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=threads

I have a set of Case knives that the modder turned the shield into the button.

I remember seeing them at work about 18 to 20 years ago. The one I saw was pretty slick.

I've bought a ton of Chinese knock-off folders this year from companies like Gerber, Buck, CRKT, Old Timer, Kershaw and Camillus, that have prostituted their names for a quick buck (no pun intended ;)). They are well made enough, though, in my opinion to be worth the twenty dollars or less (for three!) that Wal Mart, Menards, Home Depot and others were charging during this past gift-giving, Christmas season.

I had one back in the 90's, they made a pivoting brass insert into the left scale for the release. I replaced it with a D/A Microtech LCC Lightfoot.

The one I had was a conversion, but now Buck themselves are making them.

Thanks for that. So you use the button to open but the original release to close?

I had no idea this was offered.

Well, i just preorderd a BRKT Crusader in 3V. I was debating with myself on what i would choose for handle material and with or without liners.

I decided to go black linen micarta. No need for liners as i think that micarta is really really beautiful as is. I also went for standard pins.

Maybe ill have it this year:uhoh:

Single blade "Slimline" Trappers are my favorite Case knives but I have a lot of regular Trappers, Seahorses and Hobos also.
