If it is successful (no reason to think it won’t be), it makes another good striker fired option for those who prefer that style.

M&P, P320, XD, PPQ, G21/41, and now P10 series guns. I may be missing one or two...but all of the above are good choices IMO.
 
I have a P220 combat I would recommend if single stack mag is an option for you. The only drawback I see is the with the picatinny format rail, I have yet to find a suitable kydex holster. Otherwise, HK-USP 45 has been a excellent gun in my experience.
 
I disliked Glocks for years and years due to handgun aesthetics. However, I have a Glock17 which is a somewhat a duty/battle ready handgun. Having become comfortable with it, and having a ammo supply of .45 acp, my choice would be the Glock 41. It is simply utilitarian, and the ammo supply dictates the best handgun, IMO, so it's 9 and 45.
 
The crossroad has been traversed.

I've found the fnx45 tactical black in stock at fair market price. The next in line was the springfield xdm 45. The discussion was exactly as I hoped and all input was appreciated.

Light still to be determined. Leaning on streamlight tlr7 with low and high buttons.
Need about six or seven more weeks to cover the cost of the light and two more mags
 
Saw that. I've held three now. Two friends have them. It obviously happens but time will tell. Both friends that own them, one said he never heard of it, second says yes he's heard if it and he personally never had any abnormal feeling with his. Both said they are over 2000 rounds fired

Mine is a "carry" model with a shorter slide & barrel. It's an excellent shooter, but personally I prefer my CZ-97, which you discounted.

+1 on the Sig. My P220 Legion in 45 is one of my favorite guns. Are you stuck on .45? You might give a look at the P220 in 10mm. A beautiful gun and very manageable.
 
No dies, brass, or bullet molds for 10mm. Extremely covered in all in 45acp plus can use either size primer. Cartridge is a winner
 
All of mine are 1911's Springfield I used for ccw, Have a FNX tactical for home defense.
 
We all have our own opinions. We all have reasons why a firearm won't work for them. What brings us together is the love of firearms.

There have been firearms listed in this thread that I could list a multitude of reasons why it would never be on my list to own.. but in listing those issues it often makes an owner of that firearm defensive .

The best we can do is enjoy the discussion and make the best choice with the information at hand at that given time.

I very well may post in a year in looking to replace this firearm(hope not) and if something comes up that makes that happen you can bet I'll be coming back to this thread to update it.

That, in the Compact version, may be a G36 beater.

Will have to see what the grip-size delta is.

I had my eye on the CZ97B. Felt good in my hands and it has a solid reputation. The only thing that held me back at the time was the price. Eventually I came upon THE SAR K2-45. About 1/2 the cost if the CZ97B.

I pulled the trigger on the SAR. No regrets. All metal, adjustable rear sight, super reliable. Holds now than 10 rounds. Same style trigger as the CZ.

I have both an XDM mod2 and a LEO M&P 1.0 45. The XDM holds 3 more round than the M&P. The M&P's barrel is 4.25 vs 4.0 on the XDM. Out of those two, the M&P is the one that I can shoot with my eyes closed and still hit the target.....LoL. but seriously, the accurscy on my M&P is crazy accurate. Really turned me on to LEO turn ins.

Isn't the M&P 45 1.0 barrel either 4.6" or 4"? The 9mm and .40 S&W models had a 4.25" barrel, but I believe the standard M&P 45 has a longer barrel. The mid-size version and the compact .45's do have a 4" barrel.

The M&P 45's do have an excellent reputation for accuracy.
