Was at my LGS the other day and they had the above for a very good price. I own a Walther PPQ 9MM M1 so I'm familiar with the quality of Walther firearms, but didn't know a lot about the PPS. I've been looking for a compact 9mm so on a whim I purchased it. Planned on taking it to the range the next day , was getting some buyers remorse the day before the range trip thinking maybe I shouldn't have brought it. I never buy any firearms on a whim, this was the first. Well guess what , once I got to the range to try this guy out you could have knocked me out with a feather! It is an absolute dream to shoot , unbelievably accurate, very tame recoil and one of the nicest triggers I've ever encountered. I have shot a ton of compact handguns, Sig 365, Ruger EC9S & Security 9 compact, CZ P07 & S&W shield just to name a few of the most recent. None of them compares to the PPS FOR ME. At the range I practice with my defensive handguns offhand using a 2" circle target at 12-15 yds. I had no problem putting all rds inside that circle, in fact it was pretty damn easy. It ate every type of ammo I fed it with no problem. It is by far one of the best buys I ever made and being 70 yrs old I've made a bunch of them. What a great handgun!

For awhile one of my grail guns was a PPS M1 9mm because they were so hard to find for years. I got one a couple years ago and I keep it loaded as my sometimes carry firearm. When it is very hot outside or concealing is paramount, I can carry the smaller PPS. To me, it is a smaller gun that shoots like a bigger one. I love mine and glad you do too.

I didn't realize how large EC9S was until I saw it in flesh. It looks like LCP in Internet pictures.
{This comment clearly has absolutely nothing to do with PPS. My mistake.}

I also have the PPS M2 as my EDC. I agree, very easy to shoot and accurate. It points really naturally for me.

I’ve had my PPS-M2 for almost 5 yrs. and several thousand rounds and this gun really does shoot like a larger gun. Since my gun was an early serial number model and subject to the drop-safe recall, I sent mine back to Walther for the fix and it came back to me all within a week, and it worked as good as ever. You definitely want to make sure to use snap caps when you dryfire this gun, otherwise you risk cracking the plastic striker guide. This happened with mine, but this didn’t disable the gun until I had it replaced. The cracked plastic striker guide problem is documented on the Walther forum. One thing I highly recommend is the 8 round accessory mags, but otherwise this gun works great straight from the box.

My son and I have them in .40 and 9 ,both M1 models and I swapped him my .40 for his nine recently. They fit our holsters same and I am getting old :( . Truly I too consider them the best edc concealed carry piece. Surprisingly accurate and reliable.

I had a PPS M2 a while back and really liked it, but I do prefer the paddle release on the M1, so when I found one of those, I jumped on it. Everything said here is absolutely true, the PPS in M1 and M2 form really handle and shoot like bigger guns. I use the PPS for carry when it's very hot and I'm wearing lighter weight clothing that doesn't do so well at concealing a 1911.

>>What I really want is a Glock 48 PPQ... single stack like the PPS, but just a bit bigger.<<

I'm with you. I have the PPS M2 as well as the G48. Both great guns!

There are times when one wants/needs conceal (IWB) a larger capacity than the PPS , when that happens my son and I switch to a Glock 26 for him and a Para P12 .45 LDA for me, still IWB but a little bit larger and heavier . The M1 Walther PPS is hard to beat for EDC IWB .

I've has two sessions now with the pps m2.
One thing I noticed is that the trigger is so smooth, that I find it difficult to anticipate when it will break. Normally I would pull the trigger, hold it to the point just before it breaks, check my aim and complete the pull. With this gun I have to get used to simply pulling the trigger in one stroke.

What is the avg going price for the PPS these days?
You can buy now on Gun Broker for $480-500+ shipping . The open bidding starts at $350 on them, but the ones I follow are selling for at least $450+ shipping. Thats about $100 more than pre covid days. A true bargain !

gap.jpg

I received my pps m2 last week. It shoots great. I noticed that the there is a gap between the slide and the frame.
See the light coming through in the picture above?
You can close the gap by pushing the slide and frame together.
Has anyone seen this before? Is it a problem?

I noticed that the there is a gap between the slide and the frame.
Lots of other guns have that gap. Glocks, SIGs, you name it. It's only absent on guns with full-length rails, like the metal Kahrs, P210, CZ-75, etc.
