12ga ammo Where to buy

Once all the handgun ammo was gone, everyone bought up all rifle ammo. Once all the rifle ammo was gone, everyone bought up every single piece of lead they could buy including shotgun target loads!

Absolutely stupidness in the shooting sports!
100% agree. I saw guys walking out of Cabelas with cases of waterfowl shells and I thought to myself waterfowl season is over. It then dawned on me that they were buying just to buy it.

No,they were planning ahead to have it for next season and the season after that.

The closest Walmart still has the 100 packs of el cheapo target loads(not many but a few on the shelf)---didn't pay attention to the price as I'm already set but just took note that they had some.

The Walmart's and Meijer's around me are sold out of 12 ga. So is Bass Pro and Cabela's and my LGS. I bought so much shotgun ammo 15 years ago that I haven't bought any since then, but when I was walking through Walmart back in the summer I saw the shelf full of those Winchester 100 packs and realized my stock was low and I needed to get some more. My hands were full and I didn't have a cart so I decided "next time". I'm kicking myself now, as I've decided around Christmas I'd like to get back into shooting clay pigeons but I only have 500 rounds of 12ga target loads, and maybe half that in 20 ga. Hopefully I can run across some more before I shoot all my current stock up.

I managed to get 2 boxes of #7 and 2 boxes of # 8 at walmart the other day. Just lucked out. Same price I have been paying before all this. Talked to the guy that heads the sports department. He said he gets no info on when or what kind of ammo will come in. He said they would like to put a limit of one box per day per customer but walmart corp. Will not let them. It's the people that buy up the ammo and then try to sell at rediculous prices and the idiot's that pay it. They are the problem. The manufacturers are putting out more than ever. There is no shortage. Don't get sucked into paying the rediculous prices. Let them sit on. I like to shoot as much as anybody but I'm not going to be an idiot about it.

Not 100% true; I shoot a LOT of targets; last time they had 3 flats (30 boxes) of Winchester AAs; I bought 10 and I try to do that every time I go so I can continue to shoot as much as I want. Anyone buying up target ammo and trying to scalp is not a factor; it's the folks who shoot a lot - like me - that will buy it up.

Nothing is a 100% true. But, where I live there is Nothing on the shelves. No target anything, handgun, shotgun, rifle. And, No anything else, Hunting or PP rounds of any kind. There has always been plenty of target shooters around. I'm one. But very seldom any target load shortage. I know a lot of people are buying target loads because that's all they can get. But it still boils down to the same thing.

My local Wal-Mart never has any ammo when I visit lately. Several months I lucked out and got 2 15 round boxes of Federal buck shot

I have a dozen Wal-Marts around me and I saw shotgun shells on shelves up until about 3 weeks ago now now you see no 100 packs just a few boxes in 28g and sometimes 20g. However I had to stop at one this morning on my way to work and i thought I will walk by sporting goods and just see if they have anything and they were stocking the shelves, so i ended up buying a Federal 22lr, 800 pack for $40.00. My wife had me stop by on the way home to pick something up and I walked back by the ammo shelves and all they were mostly empty again.

If you’re going to shoot clays as a club, they usually sell by the case if you’re shooting there. I picked up 2 cases at my club the other day. I shot kne and took one home.

I laid in a case of 20 ga 3" steel shells before the panic but I foolishly chose #1 shot, not quite realizing that the pattern is awfully thin. Have been sniffing around for a case of reasonably priced #3 shotshells, but prices are high and availability is thin. Ballistic Products had it. They have been hit as well and inventory appears spotty, but might be worth checking. And if they do not have what you need, they can sell you reloading supplies.
