Recommend Store in Dallas

Both of those sound great. I don’t know if any stores in the areas that would have those on hand. Both seem like a special order.

1. "In town" likely means you aren't a resident of Texas. That means you could only acquire a rifle or shotgun while visiting, and only if the purchase is legal in your state of residence. You could purchase the handgun, but the seller would be required to ship to a licensee in your state who would transfer to you.
2. Most importantly, Google "straw purchase" and "US vs Abramski". In short, even if you are a resident of Texas, you cannot acquire a firearm from a licensed dealer on behalf of another person.

There are dozens of excellent gun shops in DFW:
Jackson Armory
Rays
several Bass Pro/Cabelas in the burbs
several gun store/ranges all over the place

But its a WAG if any will have the specific guns you are looking for. You'll waste a lot of gas and spend hours driving.

DFW is a big place. Where will you be staying?

He can purchase a firearm and have it sent to an FFL in his home state for transfer. He can let his friend know if the firearm he wants is available and his friend can purchase that firearm and have it sent to his FFL for transfer to him.

Every LGS Ive seen in TX pretty much looks like they have all been robbed and left with the few odds and ends that didnt fit in the bags. Probably the wrong time to go looking. Although Jackson's deals mostly in older stuff so they might actually have something to peruse?

Scheels in Little Elm has quite a bit of firearms on the shelf, but they are not the cheapest place on the planet... in fact, I would not buy anything there.

There is a Cabelas in Allen, and a Bass Pro in Grapevine... they can have some 'interesting' firearms in their showcase areas, sometimes.

Ray's is one that has been around forever.

@dogtown tom 's point about the size of this place is apt. From McKinney to Burleson is about 75 miles, depending on the time of day, from an hour and a half to three hours' drive. This is a big place. There are all sorts of small shops across the area. Many are in out-fo-the-way corners. Let me post a vote for The Armory, over in Mesquite. My local, Euless Guns is decent, but some bare--they have been doing a lot of online transactions. The consignment racks can be interesting, though.
Whether that's worth a potentially long drive is subject to question (although Fred's Downtown Philly is nearby and a worthy sammich).
