Whew... I know . it's been done and frames have been cut and mutilated . even a g36 frame with a 4.5" barrel in 10mm, perfect carry gun. a factory gun like that would get my money for sure, probably not interested in a franken-carry gun.

I just installed a KKM 4.5" barrel in my G29 for G20-level velocity. Plus with the X-Grip adapter, I use G20 mags. Best part is with a mag change and barrel swap, it's back to a G29 and easier to conceal.

I think thats a more desirable and elegant solution than a full slide on a shorty frame. But more distance between sights (or the front sight and my eyes) is a hindrance over a advantage to my eyes.

Try an Argentine Ballaster Molina. No grip safety, some parts interchange with standard 1911, including barrels and magazines. My Dad loves his!

My only improvement would be to be twins

The only thing keeping my CZ's from perfection is me, the shooter.

As a father of three sons one can not have a favorite as an owner of numerous guns one can not have a favorite above all others.

This little Colt clone would be awesome if it went "bang" instead of "click".

Well it's not really preventing me from enjoying my Ruger SR9c but the manual safety is too small and too far back on the frame to be of much use. Ruger needed to make it slightly larger and further forward on the frame; then it would somewhat closer to perfection

I wish my Walther TPH had a last round slide catch. Counting rounds so I don’t accidentally dry fire a .22 is a little annoying. Still love the gun, I bought an extra firing pin, just in case!

That's an interesting point to expand upon.

It's odd how many pistols I've had that have no automatic slide stop - either frame mounted or follower interrupting - and yet.... you also imperil the firing pin by dry-firing.

I could do without the manual safety since I never use it.

IMI Jericho/Baby Eagle. There's a lot of slack to take up in the trigger, both SA and DA. It's a light pull but it's long.

If we're talking about guns we own-

my CZ 75 pre-B is my favorite. Finish and mag compatibility. It has the polycoat, I'd rather a nice blued finish, and I'd like to find more flush-fit mags.

First thing that comes to mind is my 7-30 contender and the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is bullet selection. The bullets that made it incredible are discontinued and are getting more scarce.

Since this is in the auto loader section I’m going with the entire Beretta open top pistol lineup. I love the guns, and I shoot them well. If I slow down and really try to make the absolute best shot I can make I quite often get double or triple shot bursts. It’s just part of the DA/SA setup that bites me. Of the beretta designs, the one that is the worst for me but is my favorite pistol is the Taurus PT99. Gun is super accurate, but for me to really shoot it for accuracy I have to single load it or I’m bump firing it all day long.

I don't think anything will ever be perfect, but getting closer would be great.

1911 - I wish all parts were "drop in" and didn't require measuring and filing to fit.

Things that have kept me from buying a Beretta PX4 - I wish the grip had more texture, from the factory, and perhaps came with a 4.5" or 5" barrel, though the 4" barrel is growing on me.

Whether or not the parts "drop-in" depends on the quality of the part (and if the parts were intended to fit, aka race parts).

Back when USGI parts were cheap and plentiful, they would just "drop-in" and work.

Plastic frames instead of also having a metal option.

My commander(avatar)needs a 5" clone of itself. Got about 90% of it collected,along with a bunch of $$ tooling to build it from almost scratch.

I once bought a S&W Model 27-2 for $275.00. I spent a little money on it to get it looking & shooting real nice. Then I sold it (long story). I can’t get a replacement that looks or shoots anywhere near as nice for twice of what I had in that 27-2!

This is for my favorite carry pistol. I wish my Sig 239 was as thin as my Kahr P9.

Having the time and weather to be able to shoot putnameofgunhere.......

After going to and fro buying, shooting, selling, trading..pretty, very happy with my mix and what they do and how they do it.

As of late, the only thing wrong is I’m having a more difficult time feeding mine.
