Thanks again guys.
I have another question before I order a Lee Auto Disc Measure, which is the only one available. The through die expander in 45 ACP has disappeared from planet earth. What would I need to buy to make this measure work mounted on the turret press?
I live in a real rural area with internet speed just a hair faster than dial up. I can't download any videos.

Suggestion, place a wanted ad in the buying and selling sub-forum here as maybe another member may have a used one they would be willing to part with or even a whole set of Lee dies.. I also have and use both the Auto Drum and the Auto disk. I have been able to find a very useful load with every powder I have tried with the Disk. Some powders you may actually find two loads that work.

I'm so used to the Auto Drum anymore that I haven't thought about going back to the fine Auto Disk. Both are excellent, but leak with fine ball powders. That press you got JohnB-40, has the nice spent primer issue fixed. You'll have many, many years of fine reloading on that tool.

I have lee classic cast turret press. I load all my hand gun on it. And 223. The rest of my rifle i do on my Lyman brass smith turret. My son loads his 243 and soon to own 6.5 creedmoor on one of my single stage presses. His attention span is not good good for mass production. It's better he does one step at a time. His cell phone is a bad addiction. I do supervise while he is loading.

I use both the 3 hole and 4 hole Lee turrets, I use the 3 hole for case prep mainly (universal decap die, sizing die and trim die), with rifle rnds and anytime I am working near max I weigh each load just for peace of mind. Look into sewing machine lights that have a magnet on the bottom and a flexible neck to light up inside the press. I like to use bins to hold brass, bullets and finished rnds on the left side and found once I get in a rhythm I loose track of time. I have 2 disc powder drops and have no issues, I've been able to spin the Lee disc enough with pistol dies to not require the riser but with rifle dies it is required and a double disc kit is needed, Lee makes a rifle powder drop die set that allows using the disc or drum when loading rifle. One big advantage of the turret system is being able to set up your dies and just swapping out turrets for different calibers.

You might also give Kempf? a shout as they seem to have these items you are wanting in stock as opposed to Midway, Brownells, Natchez, or Midsouth Shooters Supply. I've also had fair luck with Fleabay. Picked up an old Pacific 007 (single stage) for about $140 shipped in the factory box even. Just gotta be patient.

Might I also add that the Lee Classic Turret or "LCT" was my first press and sees a fair amount of production regularly. Good machine.

The brown truck came by today and dropped off the press. I'm quite pleased with it,for loading pistol cartridges it looks like it will do the job. I think I will prime on the JR though. I will also stick with the single stage for .303,the only rifle round I reload. I found the powder through 45ACP die on fleabay.....Ouch $,but I needed it. The Pro auto-disc measure and press mounting plate kit should be here Monday,so I'm looking forward to setting it up and making a few test rounds. I'm glad I bought the press and looking on Midway later, they are now woosh-gone.
Thanks for the tips and advise.

For my rifle rounds I load on my 3 hole turret after all the prep work is done. On the first position I prime in the empty hole, second position I have my powder measure and the third hole I seat. That seems to work very well My measure is throwing + - .01gr of the TAC but right now I am still weighing every charge for my ladder work up. So far good loads have been very accurate and consistent even at 200 yds.

Good luck and enjoy that new press!

Did you really get the Value Turret press, the one with the red cast base, or the more modern 4-Hole Turret Press with a metal plate base? The Lee Value Turret press hasn't been produced in years. I ask because my answer is different, based upon the model. Here's my heavily modded Value 4-Hole Turret Press:

How did you get the RCBS powder drop to fit on the press? I have been looking for how to do this, as the Lee drop is a complete P.O.S. My RCBS throws match charges.

I did thousands of rounds on one of those until I finally upgraded to a progressive. If all I could get was the turret, I'd be perfectly okay with that, especially now that I'm retired and in less of a hurry to get the job done. They don't need a lot of maintenance. A little cleaning and lube here and there, replace the inexpensive nylon ratchet dealie very rarely, and good to go.

Mine must all be defective, 3 of them, as they all drop the powders I'm using within .1gr and I spill more powder each session than what leaks out.
Did they work out of the box? Mine is throwing +/- .2-.6 gr.. I even polished the drum, and the inside of the drum housing.

I love my Lee Classic Turret Press, simple and easy to use. I load 380, 9MM, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and 45ACP. Haven't done rifle yet.. The old Press is for universal decapping and bullet puller.

Right out of the box. One Drum and 2 Disk measures. Both of the Auto Disks were the originals with the red rectangular hopper and both upgraded with the Deluxe Kits. I have been using them with Ramshot Silhouette and TAC, Accurate AA#2 and #5 and Hodgdon H-38 and BL-2(C).

Been using these three measures on a 3 hole turret, a Pro1000 and a Pro4000.

Prefect Reloading Adapters. I use them both. Works like a champ, BUT the Uniflow is a beast, so the auto-index has to be worked slowly so as not to overstress the ratchet. I use it with the Uniflow for ball powders (H110 in 460S&W), otherwise the Lee Auto Drum works for me.

Yup, your right. This new version is different. My oldie has a red cast base without the spent primer tube.
Taken from Lee Precision website today so looks like they are still making the Lee Value Turret Press.

I hope you LOVE it.
I tried one & the priming system was such a HASSLE, I boxed it back up & sold it.
I had primers going up side down, sideways, double feeding etc, etc.
If you like "fiddling", the press will work for you.

I bought a 2nd hand Dillon & haven't looked back.
Even bought a new Dillon, one does Lg primers & one does small

I DO still have my Lee single stage, & just bought another.
I just don't prime on 'em.

Hondo 60, can't fault someone for giving a try. In the end it is still all about finding what works and fits you. I have no preference to tools used, only that they do what I want. I have 4 presses on hand, 3 Lee and an RCBS, currently really only using 2 of them and both are long out of production models. I truly believe that if a person only really needs a single stage press then that is what they should use. But on the other hand if someone else truly needs a Dillon 1050 then by all means buy one and use it. Just don't understand how some (many) buy way more press than they will ever need or use just to say they have the best. At the same time if someone wants to load 500 rounds every week on a single stage press because that is what they enjoy, then who am I to tell them they are wrong? I am not the one doing it.
