2021-2022 Newly Proposed Firearm Legislation

Status
Not open for further replies.
I believe that in NJ, the law to tax firearms and ammunition has already failed.

The current concealed carry laws in NJ are completely unconstitutional. Requires that you prove "need" which, unless you are a PI or retired LEO or Military is impossible. I hope the new Conceal carry law goes through.

Sadly I don;t think it has an ice cube's chance in hell

MI

HB6517 would require anyone who owns firearms and has minors in the house to keep them locked up

HB6518 would add 'failure to store a firearm' property to the crimes code

The fact that people think this is a good idea is mind-boggling. Firearm safety could deter accidents, and if the media didn't give every school massacre high amounts of publicity, people probably wouldn't even be proposing gun control. Seriously, name one mass shooting in the 21st century that wasn't a copycat crime, gang related, or hate crime?

Gun control teaches children that 'guns are bad' and that they are 'only capable of killing people', and the high amount of publicity of these shootings soil the minds of the youth, thus meaning children view them as an easy way to become (in)famous without having to bust their balls over years of university and jobs.

No coincidence that after the most unconstitutional gun laws that have passed, have made the rate of gun violence go up. Gun control is making gun violence worse, that is an indefinite fact.

Cuz his motive is still pretty much unknown.

His motive being unknown doesn't exclude the probability that it was a "copycat", "hate", or "gang-related" crime. It just means we don't know which it was.

Personally, I can't see anything it could have been other than one of those three.

Could have been...he pretty obviously hated ‘something’ but really tough to pigeonhole any of these tragic events into 3 neat categories, imho...

I used to live in Virginia. The greatest of all 50 states. It's really sad the way it's deteriorating.

I’m in VA, the northern part at that. A lot has changed in the past couple years. Especially this past year. Some I can see as good safety measures, many I’m concerned about or impacted by. I’m Hoping things don’t get too much stricter but the way Northern Virginia is going, I don’t see much hope.

Appreciate this list being put together.

Not sure if the proposed 2021 AWB has been shared here yet or not.

Since it doesn't yet have a number assigned (per your link) I don't think it's been introduced yet. I did a quick scan through the bills and didn't see it either. That's not to say it isn't going to happen because you and I both know it is.

edit: I search our database and it has not yet been introduced ..but again I guarantee it will be

Funny though a resolution came in today (sponsored by AOC and others) that has a paragraph stating their intent 'reduce gun violence' by regulation firearm manufacturers and 'permanently' banning 'assault weapons' ... here's that resolution: https://amgoa.org/Proposed-Federal-Firearm-Legislation-HR226/Federal-Firearm-Legislation/3643
