Safe Queen Picture Thread

OK, I'll bite. I have posted these two many times in the past, but not in an actual safe queen thread. T-series Hi-Power, 68. It grades out at 99%. Never fired after leaving the factory. C-96 Broomie, 1913. Same condition. Inside of gun is gooped with cosmoline. Another 99% gun. Stock is matching. My avatar is another one, although it was fired 200 times by the gunwriter and seven times by me, just so I could say I fired it. And I see my &%#*@& puter is drunk again. Sorry. You can see some of the cosmoline oozing out next to the hammer in the upside down pic.

That Broomhandle is amazing.

Years ago I took it down to Simpson's in Galesburg, and Mr. Simpson looked at it. He is known as a Luger expert and he most certainly is that, but he is equally knowledgeable about Broomies. He looked at my C-96 and told me that it looked to be unfired. I learned a lot about C-96s that day. And the first thing I learned was this; Don't store the pistol in the wooden shoulder stock, because if you do, and drop it , the stock will usually crack.:( Advice I have heeded.

Nice! That nickel finish certainly makes the DW shine, it looks awesome.

I have a 3” VH barrel/shroud from EWK on a 15-2. They do good work.

(The wooden Hogue grip is a bit long for the short barrel, but it’s comfy to shoot. )

My DWs aren’t safe queens, but I will admit I don’t shoot them as much as I’d like to :(.

Stay safe

Very nice. Is that a 3" or 2 1/2" snub?

This is a 3” barrel/shroud from EWK. I bought it years ago then I got a second 15-2 frame without a barrel to put the 3” set on. EWK still catalogues stuff for DW guns, but I never see it in stock. :(

I do have the 2.5” VH that came in a 2-4-6-8 VH pistol pac. The upper DW in the small picture is from that set and has the 8” VH barrel/shroud on. (The bottom gun is a .22 caliber DW with the 6” V .)

Stay safe.
