Georgia's 2 new Democrat Senators, Warnock and Osoff, will vote for gun control bills, and there is no amount of letter writing we can do to stop it.

This bill will pass the Senate, and Biden will sign it into law. It is a done deal.

The only way to stop this one is if it gets overturned in the Supreme Court.

Don't mean to sound pessimistic, it is just the reality of having all three branches of government controlled by Democrats.

So you are saying we shouldn't bother contacting our congressmen and senators, letting them know we are unhappy with they way they are representing us?

That is defeatist and one reason why we are in this situation in the first place.

You fight and keep fighting. If they knock us down, we get up and stay on the attack. Don't ever roll over and let them win. Maybe we will lose a battle here and there, but remind them that we won't give up!

Both Rounds and Thune from South Dakota are staunch 2a supporters. That does not mean they will let a single issue control everything they do. They will choose their battles. Meanwhile, there is plenty of work to be done.

It doesn't matter if your rep is a great guy and usually votes 2nd. If they don't stand up every time, let them know you are not happy!

Even if your congressmen is a bleeding heart liberal, let them know you are not happy. Don't let them beat you down. There are people in Cali and NY still fighting. They don't just give up and say it's a done deal.

Be an anti-SJW. Be a squeaky wheel like they are.

We can't afford to just give up ground. We will never get it back!

So can you identify the 10 Republican senators that will go along with busting the filibuster? Unless that happens, it is not a done deal.

Senate rules are set by a simple majority, the filibuster doesn't apply to Senate rules. That how the Senate rule requiring 60 votes for judges was overturned. First by the Democrats under Harry Reid for all judges except SCOTUS. Then McConnell did it for SCOTUS judges.

If Joe Manchin folds its over for the filibuster.....

The filibuster can be overturned issue-by-issue. Gun laws would probably be the last for which this would happen.

Hmm, I think you're optimistic:
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) Chuck Schumer said on this week’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” that everything “will be on the table,” including changing the filibuster rule if Republicans in the Senate obstruct President Joe Biden’s agenda.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) convened a Zoom conference late last year to talk ideas about the filibuster and other Senate rules with his caucus.

By the second call, Durbin had turned the effort over to Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), who has a lot of them.

“He really took a personal interest in it. ... By the next time we had a conference call I said, ‘I want to turn this over to Jeff,’” Durbin said.
Merkley (Oregon Senator) has been intensely but quietly lobbying his colleagues about the potential for changes to the filibuster, as well as taking part in a bipartisan group discussing smaller rules changes, efforts he ties to a decision made last year when he ran for a third term.

“I was wrestling with whether to run for reelection. I’ve got a limited number of years of life. I could do many different things. ... I thought well if I run for reelection it’s going to be because I make an all-out push to restore the Senate as a functioning body,” Merkley told The Hill, noting that he’s spoken to every member of the Democratic caucus over the past year.

Those discussions became significantly less abstract earlier this year when Democrats swept the two Senate races in Georgia, adding significant fuel to calls from outside groups and progressives for Democrats to invoke the “nuclear option” in order to kill the filibuster.

I’m not saying not to fight, but writing letters to the 2 GA Democrat senators will do absolutely no good.

If you are in a state where the senators might vote against then do, but GA’s Osoff and Warnock are as anti gun as Pelosi and Schumer.
