What is the most recent knife you bought?

I can't seem to leave Benchmade knives alone. I really liked the green anodized finish and the blade shape of this classic design. So I bought it. Blade is S30VN which should be more or less okay. All it needs now is some pocket wear and a little break in on the action.

Edit: So I've messed around with it a little bit now. Lubed the pivot and the lock and cycled it maybe 500 times. Smoothing out nicely. As to the knife itself, it's considerably smaller profile and lighter than my Barrage, Griptilian or Violi. Much easier in the pocket without giving away much in length of blade and nothing in strength or cutting ability. The S30V is superior to the blade steels of the older knives, though those are actually very good.

This is going to spend a lot of time in my pocket. Wish I'd gotten one sooner.

Several Wally world knives.
Fishing dept sells what they call bait knives
that are kinda like thin bladed cheap mora.
Bought several to put in different locales with some other items for JIC purposes.
And a couple of their Chinese locking folders they keep on a rack on the gun counter. Hate to admit it, but they're well built for what they are. Pretty sharp and get
sharper after a few passes on a steel. If I
end up having to toss one or E & E I can
leave one with no re-re's and not have to think twice. Might pick up another one or two if they send me some of that gubmint santa claus

Took delivery on this Old Hickory Kephart today. The cost was $25 after I applied $7 in points at Amazon. It seems to be a $25 knife, thin bladed 1075 steel. A decent enough sheath that should work. Not exceptionally sharp out of the box. I’ve wanted a Kephart for a while but not a $100 - 125 Kephart. This thing should fill that want fairly well. After washing the mustard off of a patina attempt plain water took whatever finish/stain they had on the handle off. I don’t have any oil for wood but I do have a bit of neatsfoot oil. Checked the internet and neatsfoot can be used on wood as well as leather. It came out quite nice, darkened it up to look like something. 5478624-C-265-B-4143-9335-A44-E51-DD1003.jpg

That is a lot of knife for the money. Sometimes bells and whistles, holes and fancy metal don't get you much farther along than time honored basics.

This Lionsteel showed up this week. When I was picking my knife out I was down to this, a Bradford and a Winkler. This one was on special pre-order for 90€, so that helped push me toward it. Now that it's here, I'm really happy about it. IMO Lionsteel offers a knife you'd usually have to pay around $300 for this kind of quality. It's sharp enough to shave with out of the box and feels great in hand. I had a guy in Germany make me a kydex sheath for it, and even with that added expense it still cost less than the other knives I was considering. Overall I am very happy with this knife and feel like a genius for not having to spend a lot of money to have that reaction.

It's sweet. Big departure from my normal knives though. Probably carry it when I'm dressed up

This came today, https://www.powercutlery.com/collec...o-firebird-fh41-cg-d2-steel-g10-handle-scales. First impressions are very good for a pocket folder under $29 with a D2 steel blade, it would be hard to beat.
Some the specs from Power Cutlery are off, the knife I received has a handle thickness of .524" and a weight of 3.7 oz. and a blade thickness of .137"
The action is very good and the lock up is solid.
For the price I would rate this knife at 5 stars, even though the edge could have been sharpened better.

Larry Potterfield just sent me a message that he was shipping a Cold Steel Bushman I had ordered back in December of 2020. I figured they had cancelled the order but I shall accept it graciously.

Just spent my stimulus check LOL...

Burt Foster made the first custom knife I ever owned, and I sold it years ago. I always said if I had the money and he had something available, I'd make sure to get it. His prices have sure gone up - my first knife from him was $450.

This is his Combat #4 model in black canvas micarta and his signature laminate steel (410 stainless over 80CRV2 carbon core).

I got a couple like this (but with bone handles) from Amazon over Christmas. I use them in the kitchen. Main benefit is the soft steel is easy to sharpen with a $6 Worksharp tool and I don't care if they get dinged. Still have to care for the steel some.

I've acquired three new knives in the last few weeks:

I have already posted a pic of thd odd little S&W branded flipper. It is a small, fat, box opener/cap lifter/money clip. I rather like it for casual carry.
The three inch flipper is from Eafengro. I have become interested in their knives after buying one as a blaze orange hunting folder. They are inexpensive, but SEEM to have good steel. They offer a multitude of styles on Amazon.com. Yes, they are Chinese. The blade is marked D2.....maybe it is, maybe not. I didnt notice when I ordered it that it wasn't a deep carry clip.... 20210318_201755.jpg
Last but definitely not least, is a replacement for my lost or stolen leatherman wave. My old one disappeared while fishing a public access area in Florida. Several fisherman were fishing there, and i was using the scissors to rig my line. The next thing I knew...it was gone. Not in my pocket, not on the tailgate.?...? Gone! Ironically, the second leatherman I have lost within 100yds of that spot!

The wave is my edc work knife, sometimes casual knife, if there might be fishing. Its a $100 tool.
I hated to lose my old leatherman, it was broken in. The new one feels like a new pair of boots...STIFF.
