Progressive press here we go

Good article. I don’t have a progressive, but from what I gather from this forums and others is that there’s a lot of tinkering involved with all three. That’s not necessarily a negative, since I love to tinker. However, I’ve loaded thousands of rounds on my Rockchucker with nearly no tinkering. If I was a high volume shooter, I’d probably go with the Dillon. Cost be dammed.

Xl650.
First and only press. No point saying it's better or worse than another as it's the only one I've used.

Love it. High volume pistol reloading

Don’t have a LNL, so can’t speak to their or any other non Dillion progressive press except The Lee classic turret press, which I do have as well as the 550.The Lee is what it is, one gets what one pays for.
Has any one ever did a market survey as to press popularity. My guess it would read:
Lee
Dillon
All others. :)

Nice to see another “what progressive thread vs another “where’s the___?”

I have used them all to load ammunition that works and am happy for those that enjoy reloading on whatever they choose. That still won’t change the opinions I formed through using all of them.

Dillon 650 here. Good solid machine. I find it pretty easy to deal with once you become familiar with the operation.

After the countless posts of mechanical ingenuity you've shown I'm having a premonition that some day in the future you'll post "here's the press i built".

LNL here but I’ve used my grandfathers 550 with good results on both.
When I have the room to expand reloading room I will run both.

I have (3) Dillion Progressive Presses. I've one 550 and two SDB units. Yesterday I reloaded 9X19mm (700 Rds) on a SDB. The other SDB is set up for 45ACP. I seldom use the 550. Most likely there are more advanced Progressive Presses but I've had these presses for 25 plus years. Reloading is not a hobby with me but rather a means to an end. At the mid point of my seventh decade I do not see myself acquiring new and or additional equipment. This new week, I'll probably reload 45ACP, most likely 500 rounds. The 550 is currently set up for 44Mag/Spl.

Good article, very unbiased.

Yet at the end of the day, Chevy and Dodge are still in business although I’ve owned Fords my entire life.

Different strokes for different folks.
My point of posting mate ....each to their own

I run two Hornady LnL presses, one large primer, one small. I also got a Dillon SDB last year. Those complement the Hornady single stage, plus a Lee Classic I bought on clearance for decapping duty. When the money is right and the availability is there, I'll probably replace one of the LnLs with a Dillon XL 750. I like the toolhead idea, and SDB is awesome. That said, they all make good ammo, so I'm a happy camper.
