April fools jokes 2021

Was that pistol ad with the bullets backwards in the magazine an April Fools joke?

It certainly involved someone foolish.

IDPA is pleased to announce the addition of Doctor Anthony Fauci to the IDPA Board of Directors. Doctor Fauci is well known to most of our members, and with his track record of decisiveness, we see Dr. Fauci as the perfect fit for IDPA.
IDPA is announcing in April that they will be converting the rule system to an "Open Source" set of rules under GNU licensing and with the launch of IDPA-Rules.wiki. IDPA's BOD hopes the rulebook will take on a life of its own, and become a rulebook all of our members agree with.
"Over the years various IDPA clubs and members have requested special rules, equipment rule changes etc. Now with the Wikipedia style rule book, members can change the rules at will. In true wiki-fashion the rulebook will now be guided and changed by the members, for the members. I am confident Dr. Fauci is the right choice to head up this endeavor: said Joyce Wilson during a recent interview.

That one probably should truthfully be considered. As marijuana becomes legal in more states that’s going to be a more sticky point in 4473 completion as time moves on. It’s only a matter of time before it is legalized at the federal level at which point it will have to change on the 4473 anyway.
 
Well up until the last few months I have never seen the .gov move at anything but a glacial speed. Somebody local was saying that a local WM was giving out free 9MM at the door this morning for the first hour I was told by a friend that uses FB.:D
 
The Glock 1911. I was in a gun shop around this time a few years back where a customer came in and demanded to see the new Glock 1911. And that the store was "holding out" on such a popular and sought after firearm. It took the clerk a good 15 minutes to convey that it was an April fools joke and there was no Glock 1911.

A favorite loads thread from the past 4/1 thread being a mixture of different powders.

I told the wife I’d have all my stuff put away before she got home.
 
I got my April Fools joke played on me yesterday morning. Pulled my car out of the garage, so I could remote start it when I was ready, had to go downstate for a funeral. Got a text from my girlfriend, who lives about 7 miles away, asking if it was snowing by me. I certainly didn't think so, and so looked out the window. ¾ inch in less than a half-hour. No trip. Local range instead.

You'd have to be braindead to fall for that one. Walmart completely stopped selling 9mm in Dec. 2020.
 
Yesterday over dinner I told my family I would be late coming home today because I had to do the paperwork for the submachine gun I was buying. No one turned a hair. Sigh...

Told my best friend I had just traded for a K32 Masterpiece, but he knew right away that it was an April Fools joke.

One of those two knows me well...
