About two weeks til I can start one of my favorite hunting seasons. Morels. I've got 45 acres of woods, bottoms, some Sycamores, some swamp, and lots of leaf duff. Permits issued, bags washed, sticks sharpened, special glasses cleaned and bug repellent stocked. Open season!!!

The morel of your tale is you can run a tractor at night; hunting morels at night is a little tougher.

The season is when they are there to be found. Usually around Late April to late May in MI. Slightly different seasons for the rest of the Midwest.

Don't do morels but dearly love ramps. Have to be careful how many I eat raw. WHEW!!

Permits issued? That’s a joke you don’t need no freaking permits.
There is a season on my ground. If you aren't a direct relative you cant get a permidt.

I’ve been poaching shrooms there for years. Had a close call once but my camouflage clothing helped me hide from the land owner.

Yep...Ramps are just starting here. No Fiddleheads or Morels yet. I like Pheasant Back 'rooms as much as Morels iffin you find 'em early enough.
