Multiple governors speak out against Biden's gun agenda

Testify, brother!
Abbott in TX knows he is on thin ice over his mask mandate. He’s just doubling down on sounding like a conservative because he knows he screwed the pooch. RINO. I have no trust in him to act on anything positive for 2A. We would have had constitutional carry long ago if we did anything but beat our chest and make speeches. The man does know what to say, he just doesn’t really believe it.

Sure would like to believe this!
Be careful about that way of thinking and dont take things for granted.

Point is, don't take things for granted and realize that some/many ppl leaving those states are MORE conservative than some/many in your supposedly conservative state.

This is great advice for everyone. From another CA refugee, no less.

In TX, just before Thanksgiving, I was doing some home building research to possibly move to east TX for various reasons.

At the end of our meeting with one of the subcontractors, the nice lady said to us "I look foward to you Cali'ing up TX".

She was serious! She was born as raised in the same E.TX town. I'd guess her to be no older than 30 yrs.

I shook my head and said 'No, we wouldn't do that. CA WAS a great state growing up until about 20-30 yrs ago... 20 yrs ago it really turned. You don't want that here."

When I went to get my AZ driver license, the clerk asked if I want to sign up for permanent voting-by-mail, I asked if I can still vote in person if desired, she said yes, so I figured OK, nothing to lose. Then she asked me which party, I said Republican. She seemed relieved and said something about wanting AZ to keep its character. I said its character was part of the reason I picked it.

Any law (or administrative rule) is only as strong as those who enforce it. If certain States refuse to enforce something like a ban on braces, then it would be up to BATFE to try to do it on their own. Even then, I bet there will be local law enforcement in some places within those States who would cooperate with the Feds anyway.

Unfortunately, the number of places that would actually end up banning enforcement is pretty small....
The states of Alaska, Kansas, Idaho, and Arizona already have. Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and the Dakotas appear to be next. May be more, it's hard to find a correct up-to-date list on the internet. Also many 2A sanctuary counties in various states.

The problem with that is most republicans agree to stricter punishments for firearms charges.

If say possession of a ghost gun becomes like getting a speeding ticket. No problem. But then there’s this other little bill they want to pass that increases penalty’s for criminals caught with guns. Republicans and Democrats support it. So now bubba is a felon and the real criminals are still felons. The next generation of kids doesn’t even know their parents could build an AR from an 80% in the shop and thinks anyone who would do such a thing must be a fringe lunatic.
I think we should be stressing enforcing the gun laws already on the books.

For example, it is a FELONY to lie on the 4473. About 10K people per year do it. I don't think they ever prosecute any of them.

Also, they typically bargain away the gun charges when a felon commits a new crime using a gun.

Enforcement seems unlikely from a President who sent the Secret Service to clean up the gun crimes of his own family...

I’ve always felt like there’s no way possible, but after seeing how many people wear a mask and stayed home I know we are doomed. I’m confident the Rona was a tester to see what they could do to us as well as an awesome tool they used to steal the election. They now know what parts of the country will submit and once the vaccine is done they will have a good idea where the strongest defectors live.

As to the virus being a "tester," no it was not. That suggests conspiracy or even that it was manufactured. It wasn't.

^^^I'm with Tommygunn. To imply the world wide pandemic that has killed and continues to kill more people than the Holocaust, is nuttin' but a hoax by Liberals to determine who is on their side, reduces one's legitimacy to a point, that no one can possibly take them seriously. It's these types of arguments that do our cause much more harm than good. Kinda like implying the moon is still made of green cheese because the moon landing was produced on a sound stage in Hollywood. Want to make a difference, make an impact?: Do so with legitimate arguments and facts instead of heavily disproved conspiracy theories and just plain and simple lies. Gun control, like the pandemic is simply more controversial than it needs to be because so many folks want to politicize it. No discussion here because I'm a either a Liberal or a Conservative and I have to toe their line. We tend to call others "sheep" while we continue to follow blindly, while listening to only the rhetoric we want to hear. Funny how the sky always looks cloudy when one is wearing welding glasses.

I am in the belief that we have all the gun control laws on the books that we need. What we do need to do, is to enforce them, penalize those folks that commit crimes more harshly, while giving them a legitimate route to breaking their criminal lifestyle, and we need to develop a better system to determine when folks with mental or anger issues are a threat to themselves and others. I also am in the belief that myself and others need to actually listen to both sides and make up our minds without considering the political affiliation. Folks tend to claim the media is completely biased against guns while the financially strapped NRA insists we need to send them more money or we are simply handing over our guns to big brother. BTW....I've been a lifetime member since the late 60s. I've also been a realist most of my life. I don't believe that the CIA assassinated Kennedy, nor do I believe there is a 9 foot tall Ape-Man running and hiding in the mountains out west. Now if experts and/or scirnce gives me evidence otherwise, then my mind will change. But until then I will continue to resist sticking my head into the sand......or my rectal orifice. I suggest others do the same.

Find me someone who won a war with a slow and steady retreat. A liberal will stand in the rain to have the right to kill a baby. A Republican doesn’t even teach their kids how much we have given up.

General Washington spent most of the revolutionary war in retreat.

With over 22,000 gun laws on the books, none of which have stopped crime or criminals from obtaining guns, with which to do more and greater crimes, harsher enforcement of existing laws is more likely to abate the issue. Bans only serve to make victims of the law abiding citizens and subjects to government.

Heck, here in Pritzgers republic of Illinois, home to do many prohibitions to count, our esteemed (in size) governor is encouraging Biden. He must not realize we have almost everything HidenBiden wants and more. Suppressors, no. Class 3 NFA, no. Universal background including person to person, yes. Muzzle loaders and many airguns are firearms, yes. Local prohibitions (Crook county) yes. FOID card required, yes. Three day wait on all firearms. You won't see Jabba fighting more laws. He just signed a Black Caucus sponsored law to weaken police, e!dominate cash bail, and on and on.

I'm getting tired of all the virtue signalling, on both sides of the gun issue. They're playing us for fools, and I don't like being played for a fool. Every day, there are tens of messages on guns -- pro and con -- in my email inbox. What they have in common is that they ask for money. I immediately delete them all.

This is exactly what more people need to wake the hell up and realize. We have no friends on either side of the aisle in congress, or in the WH. They are ALL in it for money, self enrichment, power and their own carve outs. They vote themselves raises, constantly, the most recent one in the midst of this "pandemic" when ma and pa taxpayer were struggling to keep their business going, and being told they can't operate because it's "unsafe." They exempt themselves from the very laws they impose on us commoners. Who is aware that members of congress cannot be held accountable for insider stock trading due to a back room deal they made quietly amongst each other immediately after passing legislation making it illegal for everybody else?

Republicans, Democrats, they don't care about you or me. Every single one of them would put themselves first before their own constituents. One of the biggest mistakes we've ever made as a country is making politics a career. Take the money out of politics and watch the political rats scurry away back into the shadows. Politicians in the days of our forefathers had to more or less be coerced into politics because they were being asked to do what they just fought to separate from, and they truly believed in individual liberty and very small government. Political office should be a limited term of service, similar to the military, with a very remedial salary. That's that only way you're going to attract the right kind of people who truly want to do right by the values our country was founded upon. How far we've fallen from the vision of our forefathers. :(

I never said it wasn’t real, but you won’t convince me it came from nature. The response is 100% political. The death rate is heavily inflated. The money being spent on this deal is as good as a death sentence for our future. The denial of valid treatments screams conspiracy (did you know that in order to legally use an unapproved “vaccine” gene therapy, there has to be no approved treatments)
Blindly believing the government is buryin your head in the sand.

With all of those restrictions how were 1.4 million 4473 checks made in Illinois in March alone?

That was one refreshing thing about Trump. He didn't care about the money in politics.
Republicans, Democrats, they don't care about you or me.
Maybe so but at least Republicans seem to care (or pretend to care) about my way of life more than the Democrats.
