I have a No. 4 Enfield with two mags. One works great but the second one has an issue. The problem one will only cause a problem with rounds feeding from the right side of the mag. The "right side rounds" do not clear the feed ramp of the rifle. Those rounds drive straight forward but hang up below the feed ramps. Any ideas?

Take some needle nose pliers and adjust the feed lips every so slightly until it will feed. Take the mag apart and clean and put a few drops of oil on the shiny parts as that is where the friction is.

Like 351 noted, some fine tuning on the tabs typically resolves the feed issue.

One Enfield magazine was issued with the rifle,it was not meant to be exchanged in combat with another loaded one to recharge the rifle. The rifle was loaded with 5 round chargers from the top. The issued magazine was fitted by the factory or armourer to fit that particular rifle. No 5's had the rifles serial number on the magazine. Use the magazine that works with the rifle and load from the top with the mag in place.

Inspect both the good and bad feed lips. It should be fairly rasy to see what needs to be bent to make things work. I have done this before with good results.

All issued magazines were numbered to the guns when they were made. Over the decades some were swapped out or were lost.
