I live in northeast PA. When I got my wet tumbler last year I bought Lemishine in the supermarket and it worked great. Now I need more so I went back to the same store but the don't sell it anymore. Went to 3 other stores and Walmart no Lemishine. At Walmart online they have a few different ones but not the one I have used. Which Lemishine should I get?

Any citric acid will do. I got a 5# bag of food grade citric acid on Amazon for about 15$ delivered and expect it’ll outlast me. Good luck.

In a pinch I’ve used lemon juice from the large bottles of juice found in the food stores, there’s one in my fridge for cooking. Not as good as citric acid but I’m not looking for new brass shiny however.

In a pinch you can substitute almost any weak acid. Hell if your really stuck use soda water, the carbonic acid is enough.

That's the one I bought and have been using. Got it at Walmart maybe 3 years ago and still have 1/3 of a jar so I'm not going to fret about cost as this is really insignificant at this point.

Lemishine works because of the citric acid in it. Why pay for Lemishine for only 10% citric acid, when you can buy just citric acid on the web and get the real deal ?

Alternately why go to the web and oder it and wait when I can just as easily pick it up while I am at the store? Again 1 a jar has lasted me over 3 years so exactly how much do I need to buy and keep on hand? Sorry but this topic of what, where, and how much to buy is pure silliness to me.

As I am cheap, really cheap. I got a 2 LB bag on line. Split it with a friend and he paid about what 3/4 of it cost me and said it was a deal. Won't need anymore for about 5 years now. Vinegar will work but it turns out weaker and costs more in the long run.
I've found it at Home Depot, in the cleaning products isle, although it's been 6-12 months since I bought any there.

In a 2# peanut jar half full of water I add about a heaping teaspoon, this has the consistency of course sugar.
With Lemi-Shine, more is not better. Too much will actually darken the brass. For my Thumler's model B, I use 1/4 - 1/2 TSP along with an ounce of auto wash and wax. Delivers a jewelry like shine to the brass.

Yes, that is true. Too much Lemi-Shine will darken brass. More is not better in this case.

Too much lemi-shine would turn brass pinkish color. I had that happen to a bunch.

Not if you get the stuff from the home stores. You can get vinegar upwards of 30% acidity (actually should be called acetic acid and not vinegar)
