Cabela's never has good prices on their used guns. Actually ridiculous pricing. Today went to my Cabela's in Kansas. Haven't stepped foot in that place in over a year.
Went to the gun library and found two guns.
Manager said they just put them out last night. They were from an estate sale he said. Spouse sold all the firearms to them.
Both these guns are new, never fired.
1981 S&W 686 (no dash) 357 magnum
1990 S&W 5906 9mm
They probably stiffed the grieving widow. But I didn't pay their asking price. Got em to drop price on both. Gonna put the target grips back on the 686.
$1075 for em both

I know this is a handgun section.. but this is in reference of Cabalas used guns
I hadn’t had much luck there .. but my buddy lucked up a couple of years ago .. A Ithaca model 37 16ga
really nice shape for $550.00 OTD .. He said they acted like it was awful it was a 16ga .. ( His fav )
He dated it to early 40’s .. I can’t remember the date

Congratulations! That was an extremely good price. Those are extremely nice. You will enjoy them very much. It's nice that they'll be used and appreciated.

That is indeed a good deal for both guns. Can I ask if they're still sticking with their trigger-lock policy where you live? I stopped shopping at my Cabela's gun library when they refused to remove the trigger lock so I could check the action on a gun I was looking at.

wiscoaster. They sure did. No trigger lock off till out the door.

The SW 686 should easily bring $700-1k in this area, SW 5906 rarely break $550-600 but looks very nice.

Nice score. I really like that 5906. They very rarely show up used around here.

Nice finds

Our local cabela's gun library is closed until further notice. Has been for over a year.

We share taste in handguns! I would have gone for both of those. Very good deal you got!

You could basically recoup your money flipping the 686 if you don't love it!

I think the gun cave used to be a gold mine before bass pro, lots of gems and always new inventory. I might be one of the few but I still look every time I'm in.

Excellent buy! I woulda plunked down the cc in a heartbeat for both of them at that price, too.

The 5906 looks exactly like the one I was issued back in 1991 with the hooked trigger guard and “eared” adjustable rear sight.

The 686 does look spotless! I’m sure it is a $850-900 dollar gun all by itself.

Stay safe.

Gotta say this thread is angering me a bit, not because of the OP, well done! But because it reminds me of a used rifle I passed on a few years back at Cabelas

Was a Sig 716 (or whatevever they called it before the "Tread" models came out) with a vortex strike eagle 1-6, vortex rings, magpul BUIS and some spare mags, used for $1400.

Thing looked almost unfired.

And I had really wanted a .308 AR at the time too. When I came to my senses and rushed back the next day, it was gone.
