Super CHEAP LEE PRESS

I started out with 2 of the Lee C shapes presses. Don't under estimate their strength. I have ripped them off the bench. Trying to get a stuck case free.

Are you a caster?
A little lightweight press like that would be perfect for Lee push through sizer dies.

Let's hope your Lyman lasts forever as I've heard/read Lyman has one of the worst customer service departments of any manufacturer.

But my little Lee C press has reloaded thousands of rounds of handgun ammo, sized several thousands of cast bullets and deprimed/primed many, many cases and I've never broken any part of it (but I've been using hand tools to make a living for over 55 years so I guess I know how to use them)...

Ive delt with them on busted die parts....yes pretty much always my fault.
No issues there.
I have an old T-mag on my bench right now, and a few sets of lyman dies, no complaints.
Im looking forward to getting my little port-a-loader back tho so i can sit in the kitchen instead of the garage.

They also work pretty good for pulling bullets with a collet puller.

I have loaded all my centerfire ammo on one like that, for probably three decades.

I didn't know that it was junk!

30 years ago they didn't make them from recycled 火竹水山 beer cans...that were themselves made from recycled PBR cans. Maybe.

If I didn't have a progressive I'd want exactly that - or something that price - to put an RT1500 trimmer on.

You are right there, however, that press has been super reliable.

As for customer service from Lyman, their email must be down and the post office must not know their address plus their phone number is out of order. Oh, and their products that are defective are all my fault.

You guys have given me lots of ideas.

@Highland Lofts - Just set it up. I'm sure you'll wonder how you got by without it before long.

Those are decent presses. Price does not always dictate value. YouTube reloader, "Elvis ammo" uses that same press a lot, he says he likes the clearance. So not scrap , just use it. If it breaks, report here about the failure

If all you're going to do is badmouth it, pass it forward to someone who needs it and would appreciate it.

Again this is pure silliness. It's like going to McDonald's and ordering a Value Meal and then complaining that it didn't taste like a steak and baked potato.

Come on, it's a $35.00 press!

That is a good idea. I have an RT1500 unused in the box because I don’t want to mount it on my existing presses.

The Lee c-frame would be a good solution for me. Dedicate the press for trimming.

I put a Lee bullet feeder on mine and use it to re-size coated bullets
I have tubes for both the bullet feeder and on top of the sizing die to contain the sized bullets.
So bullets go from tube to tube passing thru the sizing die.

If you plan to use it for de-priming
Rather than drilling a hole in your bench just mount the press on stand-offs.
I used coupling nuts, one size bigger than the mounting screws, as stand-offs and put a container under the press.

It may just be a pony. But it can pull the weight.

I have two (2) of those Lee press'. One is a dedicated deprimer, and the other one is for priming, with varios ram primers. works for me.

I was given one of those presses, I didnt ever use it . My step grandson in Law was interested in reloading. So I made a care package and boxed it and some other reloading stuff and mailed it to him. He is in the Navy. He is very happy and has already loaded some 32 Win special with it.

I have one. Bought it used for five bucks at a yard sale about 20 years ago.

Two years ago it got a small crack by one of the link pins. I sent it in and Lee replaced it gratis.
I haven’t set it up again because I don’t gave a lot of room on my bench with the two pro 1000s and two O-frame Challengers already mounted on it

I like the C press, it loaded a lot of rounds for me.
