I confess to being a caliber junky and my addiction seems never ending.:(
Primarily been focused on handgun calibers for the last 50 years because my 30/06, 30/30 and 45/70
did everything I needed to do with a rifle but then I discovered AR-15's could be shot all day long without developing a sore shoulder and the ammo was cheap, at the age of 70 this was a pleasant surprise but, alas, not good enough because 5.56 is no good for deer hunting in my neck of the woods and wasn't appealing to me anyway, so I was compelled to purchase a 6.8 SPC upper for my rifle. This only created a desire for a smaller caliber bolt gun, so off to the store for a 6.5 Creedmoor.
Having satisfied my immediate rifle cravings my attention has now turned back to handguns.
My local GS has a nice 1903 Colt for sale, never had a 32ACP. so the craving is starting to escalate my compulsive buying habit.:uhoh:
I would really like to find a help group but I'm afraid I might turn out to be a bad influence.

A few years ago I tried to consolidate by (tearfully) eliminating all my weird milsurp rifle cartridges- 7.35 Carcano,.30-40, .303, 7.62R, 7 and 8mm Mauser, etc.

Now, the offbeat pistol calibers are creeping back in with .32-20 and .32NP. Its insideous!

My experiences with the Colt Pocket Hammerless guns wasnt great- lack of high-quality magazines that weren't worn out was probably the biggest issue I had at the time- but many others seem to like them. Good luck!

I cured my “caliberism”. I bought a motorcycle...then a second...now I have a Miata roadster. This really works. I would love a cruiser and another .45...
Yes I've had those habits, mortorcycle's not so much as 4 of them was enough, probably because I only had so much room for them and my boats. Boats have waned as well but only onacconda my Springer Spaniels won't sit still in them.:uhoh:
Does anyone make new magazines for the 1903 Colt? There's that compulsion sneaking out again.:p

I really enjoy getting a gun in a new to me caliber. Getting a chance to learn about the history of the cartridge as well as learning to reload and (in most situations) cast for it. It’s a large part of the fun for me.

Just remember 10mm Auto and 6.5CM were at sometime "off" calibers. Now they are pretty mainstream if you leave the 9x19 and .223 club. My belief is once the current gun rush dies down, we'll all be looking got 327 Federal Magnum revolvers and go back to 357 Sig and 40 S&W pistols.

Problem is, once you've accumulated more than 25, well all I can say is junky is as junky does.:D

I thought the term was "junkie", but what do I know. A while back, I went on a caliber "diet", started consolidating different calibers I wasn't using,
and getting rid of them. I also avoid certain calibers(like 380 and 9mm Luger) because it's too easy to get them confused.

I've never been able to chamber a .... "caliper" in any of my guns. Spell check must have developed a psychosis. :uhoh:
Sorry, us old and retired tool & die guys still have a one track mind, still use em at the reloading bench though.o_O
Come to think of it, that's another obsession, I have 3 dial calipers, 1 electronic and one old vernier scale.

.
I avoid them too but only because I view them as the puny and punnier bellums.
Really aggravates me at the range when I have punybellum shooters to the right and left of me, makes it hard to find my 38 Super brass.:cuss:

Circle K makes 'em, but quality is kinda hit or miss. One worked ok in my '03, the other didnt.

These may be the best budget deal out there at the moment, as long as they last.

US Armaments made the very high quality 1903 repros a few years back. Not sure who made the mags, though.

Dupage Trading has NOS Colt mags in stock, and they pop up on Ebay regularly, but serious $$$$.

I thought I had mostly cured mine after, sadly, buying a 6.5 Grendel right before this nonsense kicked off and having no bullets, powder or primers to really play with a new caliber.

Except I might have just locked in a trade for a .40/.357 Sig pistol despite not having ANY ammo for either :(

But I do have dies, lots of brass, powder and primers to load .40 if I need to.

Im a caliber junkie too. I shoot 17HMR,22LR,22 WMR,223,30/30,7.65X53,7.62X54,30.06 .380, 32sw long,9mm,38 super,40sw,10mm,38 special ,357 mag,45acp 45 LC,44 mag. Reload for them all. Except rim fires.

Ops forgot my shot guns 12,16 and 20 ga. I don't reload for them either,

Remember he who dies with the most toys wins!
Now I need to step up my game to catch up with gunny. And that's just looking at his mosin closet. Once you hit 25 or so it kinda becomes old hat though.
I just did a head count t on my ammo shelf... I saw 30 different calibers/gauges represented...so far ;).
I don’t reload for them all, but I do for many.

Thinking about it, Caliber Collectors Unanimous is a group that I could probably pledge...I’m sure I’ll be in good company with many others here at THR.

There is always room for one more, go for it OP!

Stay safe.

Naw you don’t sound like a junky you sound smart. I used to stick to “common calibers” thinking they would always be plentiful and cheap but this past year has taught me variety is the spice of life.... and the best way to ensure the local gun shop has something in stock you can shoot during a shortage!
