In my opinion, I like the news to report as little as possible about cap and ball guns, lest they become the next “high capacity assault weapon” on the ban list. It can take lousy legislators a single news article and one committee meeting to draft a bad idea, and it can take decades to undo that bad idea, if ever.

In Wyoming, a new law allows felons to only use muzzle-loading rifles, shotguns or pistols that are designed to use black powder and are unable to use fixed ammunition.

New law gives more gun rights to felons --->>> https://www.powelltribune.com/stories/new-law-gives-more-gun-rights-to-felons,1279

If you believe or have already accepted that, then you are already lost.

What purpose does this comment serve? There are some states where this is already the case. Colorado is being overrun by idiot refugees from blue states and are passing more anti-2a laws. I donate to the appropriate organizations and participate in letter writing campaigns, but it seems to make little difference. I should storm the state capitol perhaps? Keep your nonsense to yourself.

All the news articles date from 2017-2019, and the "study" is from November of 20. Nothing really earth shaking here.

I realize that.
But a person could wait a decade or two before a BP crime event is reported in their local paper.
Thank goodness that these events are still not very common.
Or perhaps they're more common than we know, and we need to search harder to verify it.
Enough news reports can reflect a trend.
Maybe folks can help search for more of these types of news reports.

I’m of the opinion that the GCA 68 covers this pretty well. If a person is so dangerous that we can’t trust them with arms for self defense (a God given right IMO) then what the hell is that person doing walking around free?

Just speaking facts.
There are plenty of places on this earth where all hope has been lost.
If you wish to join them feel free.
You can still claim others witness to be nonsense in this country for now, especially if it serves the party's agenda...

Holy cow. Its like a fly floating down the river on its back with an erection shouting "raise the drawbridge!"

Are there any reports of a cap and ball gun being used for defense against an attacker or burglar? View attachment 995898
I’ve told before the story of a domestic violence/shooting I responded to many years ago. The shooter was a little lady in her 40’s and the decedent was a big strapping cowboy 6’1” and about 200#. She dropped him with one .44 round ball from a Remington Army revolver. Hit the top of his heart and he never took another step. He had cocaine and alcohol in his system and was an extremely violent person.

It warms my heart to know the Remington .44s can still get the job done. I love mine and consider it a weapon that can be effective and that should never be underestimated. Here is mine:

Not sure what your point is aside from a weak attempt at a personal attack, but back to your previous posts-
Your regurgitation of leftist talking points like storming the capital and your wildly speculative and defeatist surrender to the advancement of liberal gun control beyond what is even being seriously discussed these days does nothing positive for the shooting sports or the 2A.
Defeatist attitudes and acceptance that the further stripping of our rights is inevitable, only helps to erode the Second Amendment and our constitution.
I'm not sure if you are just looking for an argument, to be offended, trolling, or all three, but I'd like you to consider that a defeatist attitude in reference to our rights only "greases the skids" so to speak for the gun grabbers agenda.

Totally agree, especially when there are so many weapons even "more dangerous" just lying around for anyone to take advantage of especially if they are intent on no good and have a little bit of time to plan their evil deeds. Car, truck, hammer, steak knife all come to mind.

Every picture of a six gun needs a Buck knife in it. I've got the same one, and it's been on my belt every day for years now. I'd be lost without it!

On topic, it's nice to see Nebraska in the news... Just not in this context.

The Buck 110 is an American icon. I would consider it THE quintessential American folder of the last half century. I am also very fond of the smaller Buck 112 Ranger and carry it often. While not period for my Remington, it nevertheless goes together very nicely.

Those Rangers are nice too. Never seen a reason to carry a shorter one, but if I did, that would be would I would get.

I hear ya on the period correct bit... If I'm in the mood to be a little more picky about it, I bring out my criminally underused 120. I know, still not period correct, but at least it looks a little more like it is! Either knife pairs beautifully with a good ol' cap and ball though, that's for sure.

The only problem is that they are awfully heavy for what they are. I was quite happy to find that they make a lighter version with a modern grip/frame and you can even get it is SV30 steel. I love mine.
