I got this CZ Bobwhite G2 20 gauge in 2019 and have used it exclusively for partridge, Woodcock, rabbit, turkey, and a little skeet. I liked it when it was new but LOVE it after getting used to it. It's traditional with the straight stock and double triggers but the G2 version is very modern inside and the materials and quality have been top notch. It patterns beautifully for me with both 2-3/4" game loads and 3" #5 turkey load. Comes with all 5 chokes and is cast for a right-hand shooter.

I try to build a small kit around all of my hunting guns that fits in the case. I try to keep it small. These kits have saved a hunt 3 times and let me grab a gun's case and know I at least have any. With a deer rifle this is usually just 10 extra rounds, a couple of targets, proper wrenches, and ear plugs.

This was my first breakdown shotgun so I tried to find a compact case for it. This Midway padded canvas is perfect. Within it I can keep all 5 chokes, wrench, oil, grease, a box of buckshot, a box of slugs, and my favorite: a small belt shell carrier that holds 20 shells (mostly #6 but a few turkey loads).

It may sound gimiky but I have these kits with all my shotguns and twice have had to use the extra shells (forgot them once and ran out of what I brought another time). I have also hunted with others who forgot to check their choke and only realized it was a full after disintegrating a couple birds.

Just a few thoughts on this setup as I sit in the turkey woods waiting for the evening to begin.

I have been more impressed with this CZ/Huglu shotgun than almost any other gun I've bought. The craftsmanship to price is rediculous. In 20 gauge it's a dream to carry all day in one hand, balancing right around the action. The finish is black chrome which is very high gloss but also has a depth to it that you don't get with any of the finishes I see on sub $1000 shotguns these days.

I would have spent much more if I had to but specifically was looing for a SXS with double trigger and a straight stock. This one had them all.
The action is much improved (the G2 version) over the previous version and is totally modern inside. Pictures from my review last year:

I have the S&W Elite Gold which was made by Akus. Engine turned, true bone and charcoal case coloring and fun to carry afield. With fixed chokes, that's one less thing to think about. The Turks are building some nice guns are reasonable price points these days.

Guess I never expected a Turkish gun to look so good----I was expecting something along the lines of my Tristar O/U--which is a very cheap gun that does look good at first glance---actually got compliments on it while out dove hunting last fall.

Never even looked at the CZ's --dismissing them as cheap Turkish guns-------maybe I'll have to look again.

I used to argue that if you want a quality double for much under $2,000.00, you'd be well advised to shop for a used Browning or Beretta in good condition; that quality new ones in this price range just aren't being made. Until CZ and its Turkish-made ilk entered the fray.

It’s still an issue. I have not seen a well made/finished O/U out of Turkey that will handle competition volumes, and I remain unconvinced that any of the semis will either. Like @George P, I have an S&W Elite Gold made by AKUS and a matching 12 ga BLE sold by Cabela’s under the Dickinson name. They are very well finished, well made SxS guns. But they are field guns, not high volume target guns.

It may well be that the Turks can and will produce guns of sufficient quality and robustness to qualify for high volume target sports. But I haven’t seen it yet. So your advice to folks looking for sub $2,000 quality guns remains correct: find a used “B” gun.

Exactly; if you're looking for high volume; whether clays or Argentina dove volumes, you would be better off with a basic "B" gun
