Another North Fork Tactical Update

It's not completely clear in the email but that was my take on it as well.

I'm hanging in there and will probably order more if offered, especially if the additional are offered at the original price of 6 cent each. It looks like the "new normal" price will be more than that when other outlets regain inventory. We will never see 3 cents each again I don't think.

Once Noah gets the primers into the US, I'm asking for 50K. We all have our vices, I don't smoke a $10 pack a day, 365 days a year so this is cheaper.

I may increase my order. It depends on whether the primers are the new lead free formula or the regular lead styphnate type. Still have not seen an answer on this except one person’s assumption in one of these threads months ago. The manufacturer offers both. The lead-containing formula will be reliably shelf stable for decades. The green one? Jury’s out but probably a shorter shelf-life. Thus, I don’t mind laying in a bigger stockpile if it’s something I could have the flexibility to use now ....or much later down the line. If I need to use it within a decade or so... 10k should do fine I don’t have that much time to shoot.

So....load the lead free ones first and retain your styphnate ones for the next manufactured crisis.....

Does the shelf life differ if the primers are in loaded ammo or just in their packing materials?

As far as what I know, light, moisture and temperature variation are what can diminish primer life. So I don't see how there would be a difference in life whether primed in brass or in their representative cases as long as the storing conditions between the two are the same.

I've not heard anything since his last email. But he said July was earliest he'd be able to ship per ATF responses. He was optimistic in his last email. I'm hanging tight and will order more first chance. I have NOT had any luck anywhere else...

Thank you for the insight. I'm hanging in there as well and all my reloading is on hold but starting to cast in lieu of everything else in the meantime.

Is there a thread or information on the primers and the pre sale?

I am, as usual, late to the party. Would be interested in the presale if that is a possibility.

Presale happened a while ago...not sure when exactly. I missed the small rifle but bought 7K small pistol primers. Primers coming from an Eastern Euro country...cannot remember which...through Canada and then into USA (WA). Primers are now suck in Canada while North Fork Tactical awaits permits from the ATF. Last import permits were kicked back because of some bureaucratic nonsense.

NFT issued refunds to those who didn't want to wait. Many got their funds back. The rest of us are holding tight.

Time will tell who made the right call.
