How about some pictures of your .22 Handguns

I don't even know how many 22 handguns I've owned over the years, but I had about a dozen at one time many years ago. These days, I'm down to just three, and I've only fired one of them. Just haven't gotten around to the other ones yet.

And this one is actually my wife's. It's also the only one I've actually fired. It's a Ruger Single-Six 50th anniversary model. It was the first gun she ever bought after she escaped from the Chicago suburbs and realized she could buy a gun here. She was one happy little puppy I tell you. She liked this one because it looked like a "Cowboy gun." It came with the box, papers, 22 magnum cylinder (still unfired today). I think she paid about $325 for it used.

What's the story with the PMR magazine?

Todd.
The primary reason is preventing accidental magazine release.
"While the KelTec PMR30™, CMR30™ and CP33™ are popular for their lightweight design and high magazine capacity, many users struggle with accidental magazine release. The TANDEMKROSS “Maverick” Extended Magazine Bumper offers an oversized grip that protects the heel release button, putting a stop to accidental magazine release while improving the consistency of positive magazine changes."

Thank you. I haven't had that problem.... yet.

Looks like a sensible upgrade. Myself and a pal regularly carry a PMR in particular situations and I think I'd like a couple of those.

Have you noted anyone selling a threaded barrel for those?

I do carry mine occasionally and wanted to protect against my mag becoming unlatched or falling out. I have not looked for a threaded barrel. 20200721_005722.jpg

Sure, and it doesn't carry the cache of a Duramatic.
Yeah, the extremely eccentric pistol grip probably only truly fits one out 97.535 hands and NO doggone south paws.:cuss: Might be the sinisters ought not be shooting anyhoo!:neener:

OK.... OK! Mags are not thick on the ground and *grips* might as well be made of stabilized unicorns' uni-horns.

I do not care a whit.... It's damn fun. Inexplicably fun and I WILL NOT make excuses for it. Don't you dare judge me, us, we!

It goes without saying, when you're bunny slaying; at best that the sights are mostly all right and not near the blight that some scribblers write.

About holsters - no chance, it's too fat for that dance and carrying all day is not its real forte.

So, don't mock my decision, I'll not brook derision. We fans of these plinkers - we're not real deep thinkers - we buy based on passions and care not for fashions as trends they do bore us while mainstreams ignore us.

S&W Model 18-4 .22 LR

Ruger Mk II Govt Model .22 LR

And one final one, a Monson, MA. Dan Wesson .22 LR with a 6” V and 4” VH barrel set:

I love me some rimfires. Every time I i shoot I try to warm up with one to solidify my shooting process before breaking out a centerfire.

In a perfect world, I seriously believe a .22 LR should be the first handgun every new gun owner buys to learn the fundamentals. (I understand there may be financial limits or gun-purchase regulations that may not make that possible.)

Once the basics are down pat, then I think it’s time to graduate and buy a centerfire auto or revolver.

Stay safe.
