Six calibers that are going to be obsolete

"The 32 ACP: Lingering but unloved."

Loved by me, regardless of logic. :neener:

My KelTec P32 is a nice little gun and runs great. I believe few bad guys will keep it up after getting stitched up the middle with 8 hot European 7,65 service loads. I think the .32/7,65mm has its place as a low recoil but still effective with good shot placement round.

Richard Mann has written some excellent info about the Scout Rifle concept and other things but he must have been looking to make a quick cash in with this article, it’s not his best work by far.

I guess I'm a weird one cause i like the 32H&R Mag over the 327 Mag. I never saw much use in it.

I cast, reload, and carry the 41mag and 32ACP and 32H&R and the 40SW. Still my favorites.

I have read alot of good articles by the author. I was ignorant and didn't even see who it was before posting. So hope he was just having to fill a quota. LOL

9mm can do small but it hurts, 380 does small better, but 32ACP owns small.
I was going looking for a cheap 32ACP early 2020, then the pandemic hit and nothing was cheap anymore.
25auto, yeah too smol.
I think the pandemic has helped the 40 a lot. I find way too much 40 brass for it to be a dead caliber.
45gap? Kill it.
The 41mag just never really caught on.

Writers get paid to write. As long at it attracts readers and makes money it doesn't have to have any basis in fact. This applies to all writers and talking heads, what ever their genre is, guns, cartridges, sports, politics, especially politics, ordinary, everyday news, whatever, it's all fair game to them..

I'm not sure, but it seems like I read somewhere that the .41 Mag was already obsolete. Not that that makes much difference to me - I still like and use mine.
As far as I'm concerned, if the .41 Mag becomes obsolete, so much the better; I like obsolete cartridges. Look at my screen name.:D

The .32 ACP and the "Scout" rifle. Your post is like a convergence of fate. :D

Ok, I can see, intellectually, the argument against .45gap--that was a round that made as much sense as an "improved" .280

However, given that there are people still shooting 9mm largo (and various kinds of 9x23) .32 french longue, 8mm nambu, predictions for vanishing are slim.

Obsolete just does not mean out-of-production, not with ammo. Firearms are durable goods and last and last.

The way the article is written it is a bit over the top. But factually correct. All 6 of those have either never been popular, or are in decline. I've owned 3 of the 6 and actually like them. But just because I like them doesn't change anything. The 40 S&W is the most recent to begin the slide toward being obsolete and it may take a while to get there. But make no mistake about the direction it is headed.

Hello there, I own two .32 ACP, one was given to me from an old secretary that didn't want her son to get it, a Mauser 1914 pocket model......nice little shooter, loud as hell! A belly pumper as I call it!
The other is a Llama .32, a 3/4 exact replica 1911!
Again loud as hell, but also cute! Would i have gone out and bought these weapons...? No.....they are totally functional and in a pinch are better than holding your ******.......I've shot both and are pretty accurate out to 15'.....just two unsung members of my club......
