Hi all , so what are your Must have knives ? I have a bunch of different knives that I use in my day to day operations . I have a Kershaw Leek that has become my EDC knife , but there are others I like too, a Buck 110 on the belt if I'm outdoors . A Barlow or a Schrade stockman pattern in my pocket on a weekend , maybe if I'm in a suit it will be a small pen knife Ive got the fillet knives and other special purpose blades , what are your must have blades ?

I always have a folder in my pocket, and a fixed blade on my belt. The folder varies, but its normally a ZT 566, or a Benchmade, my Auto Stryker or Infidel. Fixed blade is either a ZT 0100, or a Kershaw Echo. I carry there in custom Kydex sheaths that I wear horizontally just to the right of my belt. A t-shirt covers them. If I had to go down to just one of each... it would be the pair of ZTs, but I do love that little Echo. I really want to scour the used marked for a couple more one day when I have some extra cash. A decent sheath could have kept that from being discontinued.

I've got a bunch of knives and change as my mood suits me and the situation dictates. Mostly Spyderco or Benchmade. It would be pretty rare for me to carry more than 1 at any given time and if I do it is a fixed blade on a belt with a folder in the pocket. The folder is usually something 3"-3.5" and I like to keep them light with flat handles that slide easily in the pocket. I think that is why I tend to pick up something from Spyderco most often.

If I need to keep it small I like the Spyderco Dragonfly.

As a general use knife some of my favorite Spyderco's are the Endella, Stretch 2, Native, and the Manix. From Benchmade the Barrage is a good one. I've been using a Bailout a lot recently too.

Must have? Buck 110, Buck 119, Case Medium Stockman, SAK classic for keychain, SAK officer model for pocket. After those, all the rest are want to have. There's only another twenty nor thirty some odd that fill that niche.

If multitools are knives, then it's a Gerber needle nose multiplier.

Must have? Must have an axe, big chopper blade, medium fixed blade, small fixed or folder, SAK or multitool.

By your description it seems you mean you mean favorite though.

For me, I have a Victorinox Master Craftsman that I carry every day. Typically a Sebenza is carried as well.

I am in offices all day dressed business casual.

I'm often downtown Chicago.

The knife I use the most is a little Gerber 200.

I've become very partial to titanium frame lock flippers for EDC. My favorite brands include Zero tolerance, WE Knives, and Bestech. There are a number of others I like quite a bit, but have yet to drop the money on. I don't really feel any knife is a must have knife, but I'm a user, not a collector.

List includes:
ZT0609
ZT0900
ZT0456
ZT0462

WE Knives:
Mini Buster
Chimera
Arrakis

Bestech:
Ornetta (Has become my favorite.)
Wibra

Spyderco:
Yojumbo (Not a flipper)

Hogue:
EXO-01 (Not a flipper)

Normally I carry a buck 110, leatherman original, and a case large stockman. Occasionally I'll change the buck to another belt knife to try it out, same with the case.

For years I carried an old time 34OT, medium 3 blade stockman where the case is now.

I spose if I had to pare down to the minimum it would be

Leatherman original
Old timer 34ot
Buck 110
Buck 192

The 192 is my favorite and I carry it some, but it gets in the way more than the 110.

I don't have anything real expensive, or fancy, or tactical. I like the classics.

It is my personal opinion every outdoorsman should have a Buck105 for the belt, a Case for the pocket, and if a multitool is needed a Leatherman original.

I've carried a Case of some sort in my pocket most years since I was 14.

Axe is not a knife. But if it counts then GB Small Forest Axe. Anything bigger for cutting wood is spelled Farm Boss. And! if I have a need for a big chopper blade, make mine GB.:)

Bestech predator is my absolute favorite
We Yucha-Synergy 2
ZT: 200-055-920-801
Tuyaknife Envy 2
Real Steel Lynx

Fixed blade
Boker plus Escrima fighting knife
N.C. Custom Specter
These are my must haves and sure enough I do.

Currently my weekday Edc are a Kershaw Dividend clipped to my back pocket and a Case Doctor's knife in the front. Weekend EDC is a Buck or Kershaw in my back pocket.

Must have? Kershaw Leek.

I've been trying out 'neck knives' lately. Sometimes I don't want to pull out my full size EDC in certain situations. It took a little getting used to, but now I really like them. I've had this little Japanese style cleaver one for awhile now and feel naked without it. Ha ha.
