Ruger LCP 2 .380 Recoil?

Basically, I found the Lehigh 65 Gr Defense bullet is definitely hotter than WWB 95 Gr. So if Lehigh doesn't feel too bad to you, then I'm definitely hopeful for the WWB not being too bad.
Remember that smaller bullets going fast produce less recoil than larger bullets with a similar energy. It's pretty much the premise of 5.7 and .22 TCM.

I shoot 50 rounds a week with my LCPII. 25 - 95 gr FMJ and 25 - 56 gr Inceptor ARX. I've also used Underwood 90 gr Extreme Penetrator when available. Nothing is "too snappy" for me, and I get enough practice.

I've had both the LCP and currently the LCP2, I didn't notice recoil differences really just that the sights and trigger were more to my taste with the LCP2. Kind of snappy but no problem to go through a box at the range with cheap range ammo, I carry it however with Federal HST, that makes a big difference I don't want to subject the gun or myself to a steady diet of that, it's pretty hot.

Yea just looked up the .380 HST, and from a 2.8" Taurus TCP, averages 905 FPS at 99 Grains, and 180 Ft/Lbs force. This is more than the WWB 95 Gr FMJ out of a G42 with a 3.25" Barrel, which averages 170.8 Ft/Lbs force.

I could only imagine how the HST recoil must be.

i’m a grey-haired, confirmed revolver guy but wanted a flat semiauto pistol for a pocketable, deep ccw. i tried, but found that the ruger lcp 380acp is decidedly unpleasant to shoot. if ever any pistol needs to be offered in 32acp it is the lcp. i ended up with a keltec p32 32acp with an added hogue grip sleeve, which is ideal. i wish that every semiauto pocket pistol had a 32acp option.

We're you using JHP's in the LCP 2, or FMJ?

I don't own a 32 acp, I do have a couple .32s though one in short and one in long and I like the round.

I don't carry mine as they are "older" I may have to try a .32 acp.

As stated previously, with a stainless steel guide rod, 13# spring and a handall grip, my little lcp .380 is my pocket carry with Hornady Critical Defense FTX in 90 grain. - these three improvements made mine much more tolerable, YMMV.

I have mine setup the same as yours and I agree.

the ruger lcp gen1 380acp belonged to my cousin. i believe that the ammo was 380acp fmj ball. i have also shot a lcp gen2 but in 22lr. obviously unpleasant recoil wasn’t an issue with the 22lr model, but i wasn’t enthused enough to look for a gen2 in 380acp.

I know for sure they LCP 2 is much better than the original. The trigger on the original sucked, which of course translates to shooting.

I have heard a few people say that the recoil impulse of the LCP 2 (.380) is way too snappy. I plan on carrying the WWB 95 Grain FMJ rounds. For anyone who has shot an LCP 2, even better with the WWB 95 Grain, what is your opinion on the recoil/shootability? I know everyone's recoil tolerance is different, but I'd still like to get opinions. Thanks.
It's a little snappy, but it's not that bad. If you carry it, you have to shoot it enough to know it eats what you feed it and you can hit what you aim at, then put it away. For me, it's a LOT more comfortable to shoot than my 38+P LCR with +P ammo. That's no fun at all!

I felt the same way when I first got the LCPII. But lately I am actually enjoying shooting it a lot more and bought some extra FMJ for extra range time with it. My Lasermax sight is zeroed for defensive rounds but I just use irons 5-10 yards.
