It sure is! Ain't it a beaut? Seems to be unobtainable, for now.
Yes, it is. I hope you find one.
I tried for months to find a Ruger Redhawk 5050 .45 ACP / .45 Colt with no luck. I then decided a Blackhawk Convertible .45 would be a good substitute. No luck there either.
Then one day I decided to ask Ruger if they would fit my .45 Colt Ruger New Vaquero with a .45 ACP cylinder. They did, so I now have a single action that will shoot .45 Colt and .45 ACP. I would still like a Blackhawk Concertible, though.
Funny thing is I found a Smith & Wesson model 25 Classic .45 Colt and jumped on it. A couple of weeks after I took possession of it I was told about a store that had a used Redhawk 5050. Go figure…
I didn’t even bother going to look at it. I am very happy with my model 25 and my Vaquero “convertible”.

I hope you find your Birdshead .45.

I had one a couple years back and traded it off for a nice looking S&W 357 magnum. It was a joy to shoot and I do miss it. That said I have a S&W model 22-4 Thunder Ranch and an older S&W 1917 by way of Brazil that satisfy my 45acp wheel-gun appetite.

I'm not a fan of birdshead grips. I used a pair of old model Vaqueros with standard grips for thousands of rounds in SASS competition. Had to replace a couple of small springs but otherwise they are bombproof. Good luck with your search.

My New Model Vaquero standard grip with the Altamont fake ivory is pretty comfortable too.

Pictures have sure struck my fancy! I've been trying to locate one for a few days. Anyone have a Ruger model 5152 revolver, that would like to share their impressions of it?

I was curious how that revolver looks like:

I didn't expect to see wide hammer that looks the same as on Super Blackhawk! I had never seen it on Vaquero, only on SBH.

I always wanted 44 Magnum Bisley, stainless, with 5.5" barrel. But they never been imported in Canada, I guess because it's one of those "distributor exclusive". To make long story short, I ended up with 44 Magnum Bisley, stainless, 5" barrel and fluted cylinder, and standard 45 Colt Vaquero, but with SBH hammer. I was in rush and gave it to a gun store to sell it, worrying that would be a hard sell because of that SBH hammer. To my surprise, it was sold very soon.

Fine looking Vaquero you've got there! I really like how those faux ivory grips go so well with the stainless steel! I found these TruIvory grips from Bar-S from one of the large online gun and parts distributors (Brownell's or Midway), and they were a perfect fit on my Vaquero!

There's a couple of nice bisleys on Gunbroker right now.

Nice!
I was unable to find any of those Truivories anywhere, so went cheap with the Altamonts. But they are a pretty good value.

Awe, Gee,Thanks…I promised my wife “No more guns for a while.” ;)
“A while” is when she stops getting this peculiar look when I mention a gun I saw or read about.
The reality is I have been off work 4 months due to an on the job injury. No more new Guns for a while, unfortunately, but thank you very much.

I have 2 pair of them.

It seems people love or hate shooting them.

I have average size hands and can shoot them as well as the plow handles and Bisleys. However, when shooting fast, I have to hold the Bird’s Head a bit tighter because they have a tendency to roll more in the hand. Which is not a bad thing when shooting slow.

Here’s one pair with some CAS mods:

I had one of those in 44mag. Wasn't very much fun in 44 mag. I bet in 45 auto that would be real sweet.

45 ACP would be sweet. Just audited a class on tuning them too.
