Where they tell me to go
We'll be doing a road trip through most of KY this summer. Big circle coming in from Charleston, WV to Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Bowling Green and then back out through Charleston.

Are there any "must see" gun and/or knife things in central KY one should see while there?

Thanks in advance!

Whittaker's Guns in Owensboro, KY claims to be the largest gun shop in KY. I enjoy going there.

When I was stationed at Ft. Knox (a million years ago), Steck & Sons gun store on Dixie Hwy between Radcliff and E-town always had interesting guns. A honest to goodness old school gun store. Last I heard, they are still in business.

On that route you may be going through Ashland, KY, Borders Sporting Goods is one of the better gun shops I have ever seen.

I worked there once upon a time too.

I live in Cecilia, outside elizabethtown.

Stecks is closed bout 15 years ago.

Kygunco in bardstown. Lots of guns normally and neat fossils and mounted heads.

Redhill cutlery in radcliff.

Sportsmans rod and gun and indoor range in Elizabethtown. If you are in Etown, might as well check out Etown gun even though they are snobby.

Whittakers in Owensboro. And on the way down hwy60, Aces guns in Hawesville.

Reloading store in nicholasville outside of Lexington. I can't recall the name exactly but the number is 8594949645

Gary's gun in caneyville.

Spencer's gunsmithing, hole in the wall place where you might find an obscure part. Clarkson Ky on hwy 62

I never been, but I hear knob creek gun store is big. Town of Radcliff I think.

Whittaker’s has changed since Mr. Whittaker passed. I haven’t been in almost a decade. He made it clear that he was all about volume of sales rather than making significant profit on each sale. The deals are no longer as good as they used to be.

Ky Gun Co is good.

Uncle Lees in Greenville/Powderly is generally good but again it’s not what it used to be. I liked the store a lot better before Buds’s Gunshop bought it.

Knob Creek Range is a good one to swing by if you are near Ft Knox.

Thanks guys!!! Appreciate the info!

I was at Campbell years ago for a while but never got into much of Kentucky as I spent more of my time "there" in the sand.
Well, in that case welcome back. I grew up in the shadow of Campbell in Hopkinsville, and I got out when I got a good chance.

It's been a while since I was in Louisville, KY but I got some very nice blades from:

One Stop Knife Shop.
8007 Vine Crest Ave #6
Louisville KY 40222
