Hannibal Smith in "The A-Team", though it stuns me every time I watch him pick his cuffs with the firing pin from his 1911 and then miraculously insert said firing pin from rear w/o field stripping or removing anything

With John Wick posting, that character felt downright
"unarmed" with only a seven shooter 1911 Kimber.

Given the hornet's nest was heading for you would also. Especially considering the Bowery King would only give him one seven round magazine.

BTW, JW II started two hours ago on USA. JW III starts in half an hour.

.
If John Wick used his head and decent tactics he would have
taken down 21 baddies with those seven bullets.

Too bad he ignored the .308 Galil on the table, wouldn't have needed to go back for the shotgun if he had chosen a proper caliber to begin with.

Yeah, saw that. On the DVR they went :)

To me the 1911 movies that stand out the most are first and foremost the 1911's carried by the guys in the movie "The Wild Bunch" followed by Steve McQueen's 1911 in the movie "The Getaway". I notice that Steven Segall always carries a 1911 in all his movies (and he seems to be pretty good with it) and most recently Tom Selleck likes his 1911 in the Jessie Stone series of movies. There are a lot of others I'm sure but these are the ones that always come to me when I pull out my 1911.
I haven't been in any movies myself but if I were a 1911 would be my pistol of choice although a revolver in 357 or 44 Magnum might not be so bad either.

very true! but how would the producers show the advantage body armor of the High Table

A lot of us change guns that often.
A lot of prop and wardrobe departments can't keep the actor dressed and equipped the same from scene to scene.

Thread, which I started, was about CUSTOM 1911s.
It keeps going toward 1911s in movies, period. Might
as well list all IMFDB 1911 movies.

I was hoping our good chaps here could list more than
the three I mentioned. Truth is, the 1911 really doesn't
need any or a lot of CUSTOM WORK to do the job. Just
ask Barney Fife. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
