Training? That's funny..............not.

We had a guy at my local Walmart discharge his pistol in the bathroom . They had to evacuate the whole store . That made me look at business with signs “ no firearms allowed “ a little differently .

Good grief ..... it's hard to fathom the stupidity of some people.

I still get appalled, but not really surprised anymore.

I bet she didn’t even see the warnings in the manual!

I don’t think any amount of training can fix BPD, Bad Personality Disorder.

She nearly killed her child, while trying desperately to murder another family’s pet, inside city limits, and ricocheting a bullet off a building with humans in it.
I assume the owner of the dog was in the background and also in the line of fire.
She is absolutely the worst kind of person, the kind that would unjustly kill a dog, let alone a bad pistol owner.

No amount of training can overcome a malicious mind.
I am sad to say it, but I pray she loses the ability to own firearms at all. It’ll be safer for everyone that way.

NO ONE should be carrying a gun under any circumstance unless he or she has gone through organized, outside training. I am active on the 1911 forums and shake my head multiple times daily at some of the stupid posts the ignorant make about their carry guns. It's obvious they have no clue as to either the safe operation or even basic operation of them.

So you advise anyone who feels like it to pickup a strange deer rifle that they have never shot and know nothing about and go hunting with it, even though they know nothing about firearms or firearms safety?

And do not insinuate that I am advocating a stupid law that requires such training. What I am saying that common sense and reason dictate training before carrying a deadly weapon.

Some posted a thread here a couple days ago where a gun shop owner described the influx of new buyers as knowing 0 about safely handing a firearm and what they did know was leaned from Hollywood and video games.

When I made the comment that I was glad I didn't have to utilize public shooting ranges in anticipation of all these people I was immediately attacked.

Of course this women wasn't trained. The same for millions of new (and old) gun buyers with absolutely no concept of the rules of safe gun handling.

I'm sorry, but I find it alarming. I won't apologize for it either.

That wasn’t your post. You said “NO ONE should be carrying a gun under any circumstance unless he or she has gone through organized, outside training.” I’ve never taken a rifle or shotgun class in my life. So I shouldn’t be able to hunt hogs, deer, migratory birds, or even shoot clays. And the only reason I should be able to defend myself and family is because I took police pistol 1&2 in college.

I gave up hunting after hearing so many "Hunters" brag about the sound shots they took.

A person committing an act as irresponsible and dangerous as the one linked in post #1 is not of sound mind and judgement. A gun safety class cannot be expected to correct such a flawed thought process.
The woman in the story needs psych evaluation. She is a public safety threat. No guns for her - ever , and I would think twice about child custody too.

I don’t think a gun class would be able to help that level of reckless disregard

You voluntarily giving up your freedoms is not the same as telling me I should give up mine. Telling me I should relinquish my constitutional right because I haven’t taken an outside formal class? Good luck with that.

Well, I don't know about anybody else, but I classify that area a "crowded suburban neighborhood" or a "population dense residential district'.
It's an unavoidable fact that you are going to have careless pet owners,(to be very kind) who allow their animals to wander the planet, freely, in areas like this. That is an unavoidable fact of life. You have to be living a very sheltered life, not to know you are going to encounter the occasional dog or cat, on the loose.

So, was using a gun, to just blast away, at any animal, on a crowded street, in a suburban area, this woman's general plan?

Either she anticipated this situation, and did this on purpose, or she reacted to the spontaneous situation very poorly. So, yeah, very bad judgement, on her part, which turned around, and bit her.
