After looking around, and getting fingerprints on a bunch of XL at the last coupe of gunshows, decided to spend the money at the LGS. Ok, so I probably could have saved $50-60 by picking up an XL at the show on Saturday (and thought about it long and hard), I was committed to how the X fit in my hand.
Ok, so, Rule One of the Internet:

It's itty-bitty, but holds all of my fingers
20210527_171918.jpg Instant-on Romeo is nice--will be interesting to see what it takes to get it adjusted.

Now, to dig through the piles of stuff, I know I have boxes of 9x19 afoot, and that dang snapcap . . .

Sweet! Now I need one to go with my two 365s and the 365XL...I'm liking how clean the Romeo looks on the little critter, doesn't ruin the lines of the pistol or appear too honkin' huge for the little gun, should conceal just fine.

Bonus points, Cap'n, for observing Rule 1.

LoL been around since the ARPAnet days, I ought to follow rules I helped establish, right?

The 365X is my Golidlocks in these--not too big, not too small.

Oh, and SIG has only recently started shipping 365X with Romeos, and I got the first one my LGS (XL + Romeo they have had in stock).

Now, to patiently wait for the holster market to catch up--everyone has XL holsters cut for the Romeos . . .
Gee, like I needed a reason to buy accessory stuff [:)]

I just bought a 365x with the Romeo sight this week. I already have a 365 and a 365xl but I just couldn’t pass on the X. The only holsters I have found are Vedder.

Carry it in an optic cut XL holster. The standard P365 length is a bit short and feels like it tilts forward in a “bouncy” way. Add a foam wedge (still happens on the short holster) and you should be fine.

Very nice! How much extra do they charge for the Romeo with the gun? I'm looking REAL hard at one for nightstand to go with the regular 365 for CCW with the 12 round mag

There's one on there now for $650 (but it now) in the first responder program. Otherwise there are several for $750 (buy it now)

Without the Romeo they're going for $600 - $700 with most around $680 so about $70 extra for the Romeo

Between LGS & shows, somewhere around $75-100 more.
I want to remember the stand-alone RDS is around $150-200, retail.

Now, like all Romeos, it is annoying in that you have to dismount the sight to change batteries, when that even eventually comes around. The switch is not "fat finger" friendly for being right up behind the image glass, too (and passing teeny). This makes picking intensity complicated.

Congratulations!! I have the XL and truly enjoy owning and shooting it.

I was able to hold one today, I was like this is what I made my 365 into! I really like it, comes optical ready, but no optics. I’ve stashed away several 12 round mags, even when I got rid of mine last year. Hate for them to go to waste.

Great buy Cap’n!

I’m wanting a super compact RDS for my 43X Glock, but like you I need a holster that’ll accept it first (duty-approved retention design). I love the Safariland ALS Kydex paddle I have for my guns (I carried my Glock 19 and 34 in one for many years and now have one for the 43X) and I hope they adapt it to the RDS.

I can’t wait to hear your impressions when you get it out to the range :).

Stay safe.

Bought a P365 shortly after they fixed the reported problems, still had to send it back to Sig as the night sights weren't very visible. Sig fixed them right away at no charge, very pleasant to deal with.
Really dislike striker fired guns but the safety model won me over in the showroom. Been shooting it for about 3 years now without a single hiccup and I've grown quite fond of it in the hot summer months.
Today I took a ride to my local evil gun emporium and when the devil behind the counter saw me coming he strategically lured me over to the Sig display. There in the display case was a P365XL with the safety and Romeo red dot sight.
I caved and bought it.:D

Locally I found the gun shows were exorbitant. Academy had the Nitron for $499 a month ago and that's about as cheap as I could find on the internet - in stock. After I got it my FFL passed away - a local militaria collector who had handled the odd purchase now and then. No connection I hope.

Cutting a kydex holster to fit an optic sounds like rank butchery but in reality, it's how they trim them anyway. Aviation snips and a file can do wonders. I converted a 9mm Safariland ALS to fit a .45 ACP third gen Smith auto, with a hair dryer or paint stripper as a heat source you can be creative. For those who move to the RDS who have an existing holster, look over what is removed online, trace the outline, etc. If you are the type to have installed a safety on your 365 it's just as easy as trimming the grip unit. Kydex doesn't fuzz and takes a good finish on the edges.

For the frugal, improvise and overcome, that Safariland was $10 at the FFL that day. Added a Bianchi M9 belt clip for $5 and it's good to go. I'm gonna miss that shop.

Something I'm looking forward to when I have more than 5-6 rounds of 4-5 random 9x19 loadings to take with me (and the uplula shows up--that 12 round spring is stout).
That Uplula is a game changer
