Kahr PM9 CCW Qualification

It does grind a hole in the bottom of your trigger finger, doesn’t it?

looks like good shooting to me! The PM/CM9 isn’t the easiest pistol to shoot accurately…

See if the guy with the $1500 Super pistol will trade flat out.

Guarantee that he will pass with your gun. If he fails again you are not out anything. But if he passes………..

Lots of people, more now than ever in this look-at-me social media attention age, buy and pour money into expensive guns and “souped up” accesories to show off and fluff themselves up. You can’t buy experience and the money is much better spent on ammo and training.

What you describe is a prime example. I often see people at the local outdoor range with their custom job kitted out Glocks and the the “groups” (more like patterns) they’re making on the paper is disappointing. Conversely, if I see an old guy there with a wheelgun or 1911, the groups tend to be much smaller.

PM9 is the smallest handgun/caliber that I carry.

The long, silky smooth trigger pull, will not be noticed in a SD situation. Save the light, target triggers for target shooting. Looks like you have that Kahr trigger under control

Although this references an AR, the very same thing can be said about an SD pistol.



I see too many people blowing money on a pistol or junk for it, and not enough money and time on ammo and even just familiarization training.

I carry either a PM9/CM9, or a CW9 as my carry piece... the triggers are basically the same, but how the smaller M sits in my hand makes it a bit trickier to shoot well. The long Kahr trigger is one of the reasons I DON'T change carry pieces... I'm dedicated to that platform alone for carry. In the heat of the Moment, when the adrenaline has you shaking and you've lost your fine motor skill... that long trigger pull is an advantage.

@Charlie98 my PM9 serves as a 2nd option* (AKA backup) in my weak hand front pocket to a Glock that is IWB.
*Option to put my hand on it without revealing I'm carrying and/or option to quickly access pistol with non-dominant hand.
I envision it being a close up crisis if I ever "need" that PM9; its loaded with ammo I think has good ASAP potential and I've tested one hand weak hand.

That's the same way I feel about my primary CCW. I have a Kahr CM9 and I like having that long trigger pull (on mine it's very smooth and not all that terribly long), and also not having to worry about dealing with a safety.

My other two CCW pieces, a S&W Model 649 and a Model 638, are very similar in that I use them DAO both with triggers very much similar to the one on the CM9.

I was slow to get on the Kahr bandwagon. They make a fine pistol if you are OK with the trigger. The trigger on my K9 reminds me of the trigger feel on my S&W Combat Masterpiece.

The CCW firing tests are not usually difficult to pass.

I always put the last round in the head, they take 1 point off my score but I don't care. Its my way of giving them the middle finger.

I carried a PM9 for more than 10 years as my primary CCW, only replacing it with a Sig 365 for the extra capacity in a package not much bigger. Having originally cut my teeth on revolvers, I didn't mind the PM9 trigger, with its long reset, one single bit.

Sold my PM9 because of the trigger pull being longer than the Queen Mary steam ship.
