Either way, next time I get a new firearm, I'm not only going to read the manual, I'm going to copy it word for word so I don't miss anything.
Remember, there are no dumb questions, but there are dumb answers.
I have a friend who never, ever reads the manual for his cars and trucks, and I always suprise him when I point out something he didn't know he had. One of his cars had a whole "Vehicle Indormation System" that had tons of info on everything from fuel on board, engine hours, etc. He had owned the car at least 2 months and I said, "Hey, so how many hours are on the engine?", and he had no idea and I said, "You didn't check it before you bought it to see if the hours corresponded to the miles the car has on it?". He denied it had any VIS, until I told him what to do to get it to come up. This kind of thing happens every time he gets a new/used vehicle. Later on, with another car, he was shocked to know he had HD radio, even though the logo was on the display.
Heresy!
You should begin by completely disassembling it, rolls pins to detents, then RTFM.
X ring.Old German saying: "Wir zu bald alt werden, und zu spät klug," if I remember it correctly.
I bought a 2017 Toyota Camry in August '16. I have to admit it has functions I have never used. It has some type of voice activated system you need to "program" by saying certain phrases or something. I have never programmed it.
I don't want to talk to my car. I fear it might talk back.
An IPhone can be synced to an in-dash system. Mine is, because the guy at AT&T did it for me ....I'm such a luddite.
The car doesn't have an ejection seat .... so I think I'm safe ..... maybe .....
For a bit of fun,
So, I recently bought a Maverick 88 as my first shotgun. I took her home, read the manual, racked her a couple times and went to bed. Over the next week I looked at the manual a few times over and then took her to the range. To my horror I found she only accepted two round instead of five. I searched the internet for how to fix what and what to replace parts with. I posted on this very forum and got an answer. A wooden dowel is used to plug the magazine tube for bird hunting. Removed the dowel.
.
That's sorta like shooting a squirrel or rabbit with a 30-30... you better be a damn good shot or you're gonna have mess! Ask me how I know....
I use the voice thing all the time! Why wouldn't you? The programming is just it learning how you pronounce the words it use.
What could go wrong!?Ever since first hearing, "Open the pod bay door please HAL.", and then the response/results, I have been wary of such "features"...
So that's what it does!!!!!I use the voice thing all the time! Why wouldn't you? The programming is just it learning how you pronounce the words it uses.
I get in the car, and call the Chinese place for takeout:
Me: "Call BM Chen"
Car: "Calling BM Chen"
Only thing I did with my hands is press the green voice command button and then the red one to hang up. They are on the left side of the steering wheel.
No taking my eyes off the road.
Calling a friend of mine:
Press green button:
"Call Doug"
Doug answers.
I can change the radio station, music source (FM, AM, Sirius)
Raise or lower the volume. And it does other stuff I don't care about, but the phone stuff is used constantly. Just the hands free part is a huge improvement over holding the phone up to your head.
Your car isn't going to bring the Gestapo down on you.
there are other powders that work well for this also
