Your also writing off bass pro because sportsmans is now a Jonny Morris company. That basically leaves you turners in California and maybe an LGS.

Well, we have Ammo Bros, LAX Ammo, Turners, Sportsman’s Warehouse, and LGS. Oh, and I have a dedicated reloading store near me.
Midway, Midsouth and Natchez will ship to me as well.

It’s just no one has the almighty primers…yet. ;)

They had 50BMG primers... go figure. They had a fair amount of bullets. Contrast that to my LGS, who hasn't had a can of powder on the shelf for 2 months... that

I could be wrong but probably in stock because of lower demand.

A friend of mine was, is looking for components, I helped him he ordered 62 gr hornandy fmjbt and 9mm from rmr and recieved them in 5 days. Then found 400 small rifle primers, in Rochester, no powder yet but I have a sufficient supply.

Well I just read an article from the NRA that stated all primers from Vista Outdoors (Federal, CCI , Remington Ammo) plus from Winchester are all going into
loaded ammo. My local gun shop that normally does $2 million plus a year in reloading supplies alone, told me they don't expect to see a primer until sometime in 2022.

Primers factory late summ…….. I’m just going to keep it to myself

The shop with the indoor range where I shoot pistol went to the trouble and expense to get primers. At $175/k for SP&LP CCI I can’t afford to buy any - and wouldn’t anyway when I found out how quick they were selling at that price. Let the people who need them that bad have them.
BPS says “club” but it’s just a vanity credit card. I took a few days off to stand in line before opening and ended up with a pound of WST for $29.50+tax. No primers but that made it worthwhile.
And, FWIW, I get your gripes. But look at it this way: maybe those online sellers are trying to get Californians riled up so they’ll change the laws. Maybe it is their way of saying, “You don’t have to put up with this crap, so do something about it.” I don’t agree with that approach but it’s possible that’s what’s going on. I always try to put myself in the other guy’s shoes.

It's obvious that our ammo manufacturers and reloading component suppliers are not capable of supplying ammo and reloading components at this time. And to tell the truth I have reservations on their capability as a whole in the future. They are not capable of managing their business's well enough to meet the present demand. They won't belly up to the bar. I have read countless email excuses from them. They are the gun industries weakness.

they want reloaders to buy factory ammo. Don’t trust what they tell you

It is my opinion they “they” couldn’t care less. More than likely they never sold much in California so we really don’t matter. Now, they don’t matter to me. ;)

Not really on topic.

Supply sure is bad in some places, but it will get better one of these days. Last shortage lasted a few years, and all the negative things we read now were written then, but in between these two shortages caused by increased demand there was a really nice window of plenty, with sales, etc. be patient, and be better prepared next time, not by buying huge quantities when prices are up and supply is down, but a little at a time, and large quantities when things are on sale. Patience and discipline.

I'm shooting less and being as patient as I know how to. :)
