Ahhhh ... I feel a bit better now. PSA BCG under $100.

Remember that stretch a few years ago when we could buy nice-but-nothing-special AR-15 Bolt Carrier Groups from Palmetto State Armory (as an example) for slowly decreasing prices that started (at least, the prices caught my attention) at ~$79 and, over a year, or so, worked down to the $49(IIRC) level.

Welp, when the current Insanity took off I noticed that PSA pricing on its nice-but-nothing-special BCGs pretty quickly almost trebled. WHEW!

At that point I decided to adopt the pricing of PSA CGBs as my personal bellwether for when the Insanity was starting to wind down.

Today I opened a PSA Fathers Day email that offers one of their BCGs for $99.99, down from $144.99. :D

<fingers crossed>

I have a few things on a local board at really good prices with no takers. I think it has something to do with no more “free money”.

I think as a whole, the gun industry is seeing a decline in purchasing at the insane price points. It will go back to normal soon.

I agree. It’s much less painful spending on high priced stuff using a windfall from uncle Joe than it is saving for it over time.

I’m hoping some sanity returns soon.

Stay safe.

Yeah, but every one and their brother are using lowers for book ends and door stops. What they forgot to get was ammo an components. They skipped over the $99/5000 primers when they were on sale last time. I think that’s what they are more interested in this time…

People either didn't learn during the Obama scare or they weren't old enough to be into guns at the time. During Trump, we were all in the land of milk and honey as far as prices went, so I stocked up accordingly and recommended that to a lot of friends also. Most didn't listen or didn't think it would happen again.

Moral of the story, if things ever get back to "sweetheart" prices, buy as much ammo and components as you can afford. If possible, buy as much as you think you can go through in your lifetime. If budget allows, buy as much as you think your KIDS can go through in their lifetime.

. . . nice-but-nothing-special AR-15 Bolt Carrier Groups from Palmetto State Armory
By the by, PSA bought Toolcraft. . . so that nothing special BCG is likely nearly identical to the mid-premium Toolcraft BCG that cost $150+ (and had probably been identical for years).

There's a win for vertical supply chain integration.
