What did you shoot today?

Went to a new indoor range in the town my daughter and her family live in. Shot my S-I-L's Xd. Not a fan of the tiny grip safety, but overall nice handling. Also got to take my father's SW model 39 out for the first time. Not sure how old it is, but it ran flawlessly! Any day at the range is a good day!

Shot my Remington 700 Sendero in .270 Winchester , cast Lee 135 grain GC bullets . Hot . hazy, humid, sunday evening at the range...life is good.

I shot a couple magazines thru my G42 this afternoon. It was over due for a complete break down and cleaning. Shaving and straw dust builds up when working. Haven’t carried it for a couple of weeks due to shoulder replacement.

Anyways, always run a couple mags thru any pistol I completely strip for a good cleaning. I’m pretty good at putting things back together, but always want to make sure.

Still need to shoot the G43X is just traded for. But my 9mm stash is at critical and I’m one armed for the next couple weeks, so it will be awhile. Bet I will send it off to Jagerwerks for it to be cut for a RMRcc before I even shoot it. Cause I’m impatient. LOL

Hi...
Busy day at the gun club today.
Ran a few magazines through my AR15 in .223Wylde, a couple of stripper clips through one of my SKS rifles and a couple magazines through my son's AK.
My son ran a large number of magazines through both of his AR rifles, a bunch of stripper clips through my SKS and lot of magazines through his AK.

Then we moved over to the handgun range and shot for a couple of hours.
For a change we didn't have a single .357Magnum revolver with us.
We did run about 100 rounds of .45ACP through my new Rock Island 1911...couple of minor bobbles. One misfeed and the slide didn't lock open a couple of times. Accuracy was good enough to hit the steel plates off hand at 25yds. Didn't shoot it on paper...this was a simple function and reliability check on a new gun.

Shot some .38Spl, .44Spl, .45Colt and .41Magnum...never got around to shooting the .44Magnums today. Also ran a few magazines through my son's Para Ordnance 1911 in .45ACP.
I think my son shot some .44Magnum, .45Colt, .40S&W and a lot of 9mm and .45ACP. I will have a better handle on what all he shot when I separate the brass tomorrow...have two large plastic coffee cans full of fired brass to separate.

Finished a major plumbing job at the house this morning and couldn't resist letting a couple boxes go with dad's single six. After 2 weekends of agony, only fitting I get an hour of fun. Or 2
Let some 44 specials go today also......big grin

Shot my P365, my G19, and my dad's Hellcat. We did 25 yard accuracy tests, then 10 yard rapid fire drills. We were both more accurate with the Glock, Sig was 2nd, Hellcat last, but very close. Hellcat won on rapid fire drills. Fun times.

FO Sight Small.jpg Shot a Steel Challenge Match today with my 617. It topped out at 110 degrees today. Rehydration was more important than my score and I drank about 5 bottles of Gatorade.

Fortunately one of the guys on our squad has a small air conditioner on his cart and I took advantage of it when I could.

Took the Savage 223 out back to see if it would repeat a light strike on my reloads. It seems to be working fine now with no problems.
The last round was dead center on the freshly painted 4" dinger. :)

I got a chance to shoot my Walther P 22 again today. Just experimenting with hot loads to make sure the action is working and yes it does.

20 rounds of CCI Velocitor, Stinger and Federal Punch and all went off without a hitch. I thought the Stingers had a large flash until I fired the Punch. It may not kill something but it sure will scare it.

I had fun. This is not my carry gun but I would use it in a pinch. It's accurate and I can hardly feel any recoil even with the HV fodder.

I made this holster for it.

A Taurus g3c and Beretta neos u22. Just picked the Taurus up a few days ago. Fired it for the first time today. Did pretty good. I didn't like the way the trigger felt. But, Oh well. In a defensive situation I don't think I would notice how the trigger felt. The gun worked. No fail to fire. No fail to load. No fail to eject. It worked and was pretty accurate. I couldn't ask for much more. The Beretta I've had for years. I just wanted to shoot it. In my old age I get more joy out of shooting 22s than any others.

Today I shot my canik tp9sfx, my Ruger SR40, my Springfield XD45 and my new RIA Rock Ultra 10mm double stack 1911. Shooting at paper and at steel, what a blast!

How did that 10mm do? From what I've read, they are pretty sweet pistols.

Went to the local gun club this morning, put the 686 and 1911 through their paces, went back home, had lunch and thought 'Why not? It's only a 7 minute drive from home', so I took the 10/22 with me and put it through its paces also. All in all a good day. Range day_edited-1.jpg

Today I took my truck gun* to the range to check zero. Old Weaver D4 riflescope.

Five shots at 25 yards. Adjust. Another five shot group.

Chased golf balls out to the 55yd berm. Decided to paint the 150yd swinger white, figured the drop at about 18 inches. The wind was blowing my right to left, so I put the X right of center of the chains about 3 to 4 inches below the cross beam.

I overcompensated.

*that I take out of the house and put in the truck when I go to the mountain and bring in when I come home.
