I say we don't allow that to happen.I have one. I keep it in trunk of my car. Plenty of videos showing and proving that they are accurate and manageable.
After bumpstocks, braces, and 80% lowers are banned, the ATF will simply change the definition of what the text of the law means, and everyone who spent $300-$600 on a Shockwave variant will either have to turn it in, destroy it, or register it via $200 tax stamp. Of course many of the same gun owners who thought bumpstocks, braces, and 80% lowers skirted the law and/or were useless gimmicks will sit by idly yet again while these are banned. If you don't already own one, I don't recommend wasting your time or money.
I'm not a "pro". I do advocate though protecting one's family with the handiest and meanest option available. A Tac13 fills that bill hands down. A guy could spend an afternoon showing the bad guys who's boss with this type weaponry.I see no practical use for such guns. They might be entertaining or cool. But I don't hear about pro's using these .
Yup. Like pistol manuals that tell you to carry with an empty chamber. The only reason Mossberg put that in the manual is to cover their A from liability lawsuits.
I see no practical use for such guns. They might be entertaining or cool. But I don't hear about pro's using these .

Amen brother.???? They were invented by pros, for pros; Police Armorers, for stakeout guns, then FBI Armorers for guards in the Witness protection program. The only thing the Shockwave-type 'firearms' add is the nomenclature 'firearm' as defined by the ATF, and a couple inches of barrel to make 26" OAL. They were also used for breaching, as in 12Bravo20's experience with them.
And after all is said I find them a bad compromise at best.
That's the thing......it's not a compromise because it's exactly what it's meant to be.
It's not really a shotgun, a pistol or anything else. It's just....a shockwave. Comparing it to something else isn't exactly apples to apples.
I thought they were ridiculous before I got one but once I owned it I saw how useful it was.
Not to mention.....they are fun as hell
I watched a couple of reviews of a Shockwave some time ago, and I was negatively impressed. But I have not tried one.
I tend to listen to scaatylobo here. So, I will not dismiss one out of hand. The semi-auto sounds intriguing.
i don't think it's for me. If I need more reach for defense than I would have with pistol, will be from indoors. I would not have to dispense with shoulder stock.
There's are two things that dissuade me.
One is that I like to have my firearm on my person when I am at home.
The other is the appearance. I would not want to have a Shockwave waved around as evidence at trial. Glenn E. Meyer's Will it Hurt Me in Court will explain that.
I see no practical use for such guns. They might be entertaining or cool. But I don't hear about pro's using these .
I believe the concept started with the US Marshal Service Witness Protection Program which sounds official if not professional. Those WPP guns were made from shotguns originally made and sold as long guns and were NFA shortened shotguns SBS. The shockwave guns are made as "firearms", as short shotguns (not shortened longgun shotguns).
I believe the difference is the shockwaves are sold subject to state and federal laws governing sale of handguns and are not an attempt to evade handgun restrictions by "sawing off" a less restricted long gun.
Don't try to make your own shockwave from a shotgun originally made and sold as a long gun. Once sold as a long gun, all NFA rules apply to shortening it.
THANK YOU !.
And might I add to your perfect comments.
If you like or have a use for the Shockwave, wait till you shoot the semi auto version.
MUCH easier to shoot & aim with far less felt recoil than the pump versions.
Fired 25 rounds and only stopped as it was a hot muggy day in the sun !!.
Slugs,buckshot,hot birdshot [ #2' ].
I would have had a few pics taken, but was at range solo, maybe next time.
There are a lot of guns out on the market that I have no use for, but I have shot many of them and would like to shoot more of them. They aren't for me, but if you're buying it i'd like to shoot it

If you’re ever down my way, you can shoot my TAC-14 and I’ll even supply the shells.
What I don’t care for is when someone sees a gun that they feel has no practical use, but feel the need to let everyone know and try to convince those that don’t agree with them that such gun is useless.
Like it has been pointed out, the Shockwave and TAC-14 and other versions are really nothing new. Just a little different so that one doesn’t have to register it as an AOW.
Here’s the Super Shorty 870 AOW that has been around for some time. I shot one and can say, my TAC-14 is much more fun to shoot.
