Stupid idea of the year

Hopefully Junior doesn’t get ahold of this and think it’s a toy.

The amount of time/money some people have to create horrible ideas like this is surprising in this modern age. To many, guns are no longer tools but platforms on which to be edgy and gain attention.

Now Nerf to this. Sorry but I think purposefully making a lethal firearm disguised as a child’s plaything is a ridiculous and reckless endeavor.

The grip texture, with the Lego block “spikes” has got to be painful.

If I had young kids, I would not have one in my house even if I were silly enough to want one. It is a disaster waiting to happen where kids live.

It's a disaster waiting to happen anywhere. A nut job could get deep into an office building, waiving around his or her "toy" and nobody would be concerned in the least. This makes a bad guys job easier and doesn't help the responsible gun owner in any way. Nothing but negatives come out of a fully functioning Lego gun. If I was an anti, I would celebrate this "toy."

Because we can!

Because, Freeedooom!

Put into perpective, many of the extensively cut out and butchered - ehrm - stippled offerings are just as hideous.

The only thing they have going for them is that they're probably less of a hazard with minors

It's not to my taste, but I see people spending big money on more conventional looking guns that are also not to my taste. It's their guns, their money.

In my experience with children if they're too young to train to be safe around guns it does not matter how outlandish or conventional the gun, they'll pick it up and play with it. Regardless of what it looks like keep them put away out of their reach.

You can go back to your sneering now.

I’d own one before I bought a Picasso, although neither would really suit my tastes.

Tastes are often a matter of perspective, they may think the less durable and “boring” wood/blue finish is “stupid” and just don’t call the owners perspective of that combination a stupid idea or thought…

As an aside, I took the Little McGee (who isn't so little any more) to the gun show at around age 7. We spent some time handling real guns and blue guns and I made her correctly identify which was "real" and which was not, by weight. Guns like the ones in this thread are the exact reason I did it by weight.

Certainly pretty dumb and a waste of money and effort, I agree.

But I don't think it's any more ridiculous or reckless than keeping a pistol unlocked where kids can find it, regardless of color.

Yes, kids can be taught not to touch them but even responsible kids can be dumb, I sure was both in my youth. My stuff stays locked up and only me and the wife know the combinations.

Hopefully nobody will leave this out in the hallway at night. I can't wait to see the matching Lego nub on defense ammo tips.

Considering the extreme stippling, vent machining and serrating of race pistols migrating to carry guns, Lego pattern checkering is mild now. Do that in all black and I actually think people wouldn't even see it when carried OC. It would be just another gun in a holster at the range. A Glock marked 1911 would get more attention.

And yeah, I drew a line on this with Dewalt AR's. We have raised a generation of young minded men, Superhero Swiss watches for $500 sell well right now.

Oh the sanctimony. Seriously, who cares.

Have we reached the end of the internet? People deciding what the standard should be is how we got Fudds working for gun control. Not my cup of tea but if the dude wants a lego-looking glock let him have a lego-looking glock; it's no skin off your behind.
