No experience with the Bass-Pro, but I do use one of these from Alaska Guide Creations:

Great piece of kit, not too big, not too small, holds both my Swarovski 10x42s or Leupold BX5HDs 10x42s, with room for range finder (neat tether feature), Kestrel, lens cleaning crap, and a small knife. The phone holder pouch on top also works well for a compass, knife etc. It's pretty quiet and the range finder pouch is very, very, convenient. You can get larger models sized for bigger binos, they have a chart on their site.
IF you're out in serious heat, any chest rig will make you sweat where it makes contact. I just remind myself how much wearing body armor in 120 degrees sucked....and then I'm smiling.
The Cabela's/Bass Pro has a solid back support whereas the Alaska Guide is mesh, so in theory a little cooler. Also, read the reviews on Cabela's...not too good. The rangefinder pouch having a velcro closure kind of sucks.
