NIGHTLORD,

My P-6 absolutely has not been upgraded. As I said, it will not feed hollow points including the REMINGTON 115 grain jhp. These seem to work in everything else, but not the P-6 that I have. Exact opposite for my 225. Also, trigger is fine on my 225.

About 10 years ago, I paid $319 for my Sig P6, a surplus W. German police version of the P225. These have increased in value since then, but nine bills for a civilian P225 seems high. There were a lot of P6’s available on the surplus market back when I got mine, so you might save yourself some money if you go for a P6 vs. a P225. I’d avoid the ProMag aftermarket magazines, in favor of OEM mags in serviceable condition at a decent price (I have 7 OEM magazines).

P225s are not the same as P6es and have always gone for at least a couple hundred more. 225s are relatively rare and are very desirable among SIG cognoscenti. A nice P225 is a very good deal at $500-$600ish, and an as-new one with $150-200 of extras including a relatively rare threaded barrel is a good deal at $850 IMO. Besides, prices now are not what they were 10 years ago. For anything gun related.

A couple hundred more than my P6 got me my P228 which “IMHO” is a better shooting gun than a P225!

What a beauty. I also have one (JH = '87) almost as purdy, with the typical "squashed bug" symbol under the chin, which most of us know means proofed Kiel Germany.

Most of my handguns have metal franes and slides.

My P225 looked just like yours when I first bought it new about twenty years ago. I replaced the plastic grips with Nulls. I've no idea if it was made in Germany or not, but it's a one-stack pistol and the sights were not night sights, just regular.

Those were all (actually, really) German made. Beautiful grips!

Purchased today for 850. Box 3 mags threaded barrel test target etc. Put a box of s&b fmj and 2 mags of federal 124gr hst through with no issues. Soft recoil easy to make hits on my small steel target. Fits In my g19 holster. Serial # looks like 2009 or10. Will post a photo.
Congratulations! You can get a better idea of the build year of your P225 from the two-letter proof date code that should be on the bottom front slide chin of your pistoll and following the link provided by Ignition Override to decode it.
